Untitled[edit]

According to One Foot in the Grave & List of British TV shows remade for the American market, Cosby is a remake of One Foot in the Grave. Can anyone confirm this? Caffeine 06:26, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series[edit]

I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 16:23, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Erica?[edit]

Interesting to see that there is no mention of who 'Erica' IS? Sister, daughter, sister-in-law, cousin, nanny, what? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.113.252.70 (talk) 18:54, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

daughter, and she is portrayed by TCK even in the pilot. so what's that line about AUDRA MACDONALD mean? was that in some unaired test version, same as telma hopkins? it is certainly misleading to say "initially portrayed by..." and "later portrayed by..." as currently worded. 198.147.225.24 (talk) 04:16, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Request for comment on articles for individual television episodes and characters[edit]

A request for comments has been started that could affect the inclusion or exclusion of episodes and characters, as well as other fiction articles. Please visit the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Notability_(fiction)#Final_adoption_as_a_guideline. Ikip (talk) 11:33, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turtle or Tottoise?[edit]

In the recreation of the episode from one foot in the grave in olving a "totrtoise" it is implied that a "turtle" was used instead. Turtle is used in everyday American Emglish in referring to turtles, terrapins and tortoises. Could it be that it was in fact the same thing? see [[1]] Dainamo (talk) 10:26, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Advertising[edit]

Took out "Cosby is currently airing on gmc Monday-Thursday at 11:00p and 11:30p (EST). Log on to www.watchgmctv.com for your local listings" -- Wiki isn't the place for ads. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.11.184.1 (talk) 19:26, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 8 July 2020[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Consensus to move page and then move Cosby (disambiguation) to Cosby. (non-admin closure)YoungForever(talk) 18:52, 15 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CosbyCosby (TV series) – Very clearly not the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC of the name Cosby compared to Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby gets 95% of the page views between the two and is often referred to by the name "Cosby".[2] Cosby should redirect to him with a hat note to the dab page. Cúchullain t/c 16:25, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Disambiguate the page views for Bill aren't particularly relevant since most people looking for him will type his 1st name (WP:PTM). The surname derives from the village in Leicestershire which is an argument for PT#2. Views do indeed show that the TV series gets quite a few more views than other things with the single name[[3]] but given the existence of Bill and the long-term significance argument a DAB probably makes most sense. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:41, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support the move, but I'd change Cosby to a DAB.--Ortizesp (talk) 18:54, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate per User:Crouch, Swale above. Paintspot Infez (talk) 20:03, 8 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support per nomination. Those who type "Cosby" are invariably searching for Bill Cosby, not the TV series which ended 20 years ago. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 03:12, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support and redirect to Bill Cosby. Most people searching for "cosby" are going to be looking for his biography article. Rreagan007 (talk) 08:01, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate per above. TheTVExpert (talk) 15:43, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate per above, our standards for primary topic of a last name are very high and I don't think Bill Cosby meets them. -- King of ♥ 19:44, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Disambiguate is the best option here. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:31, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support, and move existing Cosby (disambiguation) to Cosby - per Ortizesp. We should have a very high bar for using surnames as PRIMARYREDIRECTs. -- Netoholic @ 08:31, 14 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
