I have lived and worked in Japan for over 15 years, so have interest in all things Japanese. Will try to do some sharing of information between the jpn and the en versions of the wikipedia.

Ah, well, just because you have custody problem doesn't mean you can't contribute. True. I for example made some edit on Nanking Massacre though I'm Japanese (and often being presumed to be on denial side). Problem is when someone with agenda do violate NPOV policy of this site. For example, I'm quite sure forgery of document occurs in Japan or elsewhere. And you have shown that Japanese divorce is not recognised in all coutries. Presenting these facts is not a problem. Problem is linking this two, which I think was the case where you agenda clouded your better judgement. I also think equating North Korean Abduction with Abduction by parent was bit tasteless. I'm quite sure you feel wronged. But you should know that that is nothing compared to the family of victims of this particular case. In North Korean Abduction case, some abductees were killed. Well, I thought it would also be tasteless to be more explicit about the forgery problem. But I can oblige on that and present the danger of forgery of signatures on divorce forms in an unlinked fashion. Other countries do not have this problem with respect to divorce because they do not allow divorce without positive identification of both parties. This aspect of forgery is unique to Japan.

About the Korean abductions, how exactly to you measure the pain felt by the victims of kidnappings by North Koreans vs. the pain felt by the victims of child kidnappings by Japanese citizens? Whats the value of one death compared to three kidnappings? Which has greater pain? Personally, I feel its tasteless to try to say that the Japanese families feel more pain than the non-Japanese families. That there is a controversy, is a fact. Even fellow Japanese admit that there is a related controversy. So that much deserves to be mentioned. Then let anyone who feels so compelled, make their own evaluation of relative pain. Personally, both are so great that I would refrain from such a comparison.

Oh, come on. You can't be seriously saying you prefer your kid(s) to be kidnapped by North Korean agent than by mother. FWBOarticle 11:03, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)
(Or by the father.) Dont you see, thats like asking if you would prefer your whole hand to be cut off or just two fingers and your thumb. I would prefer neither. Perhaps you dont understand that much like the Korean case, the abducting Japanese parent cuts off all contact between the child and all other non-Japanese relatives and denies the child knowledge of the non-Japanese culture. Just like Soga's children. And a government which is supposedly friendly, allows this, despite arrest warrants for very specific people who could easily be found and arrested. |Jpnwatch
