I have removed this from the page:

Turion is the name of a firegod as well.

I hate to bore anyone, but I fail to see why the Turion should be listed in a general PC hardware category. There are at least 2 categories dedicated specifically to processors, and thats where the page should go. Microprocessors & X86 microprocessors seems fine to me. I mean, we have to have divisions here. Just putting anything vaguely related to computers into 'pc hardware' category would make little sense. Think about it. Come to think of it, its questionable if the Turion even merits its own page. Its basically just an Athlon 64 chip, sampled from the production lines for low V capability. Should probably be a subsection on the Athlon 64 page. Timharwoodx 23:39, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Turion X2 Article?[edit]

Once more information is available reguarding the Turion X2, should there be a seperate article for it? just as how there is a seperate article for the Athlon 64 X2 for the Athlon 64s, imo, there should be a seperate Turion 64 X2 article for the Turion 64.praetor_alpha 00:03, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think not. Turion is a brand name, not a technology. If we treat it as a technology, we will be surprised by AMD's next use of the name. Think, for example, how the names "Pentium" and "Celeron" have been used. Surely "Turion X2" is an instance of "Turion". DHR 05:00, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, AMD wanted Turion to be analogous to Centrino, and that article is one article for the whole kit and kaboodle, including Centrino Duo. However, Turion also refers to a CPU, confusingly. AMDboard.com[edit]

Please stop linking to amdboard.com.

It does not display properly on Firefox 1.5. It was possibly only verified with and/or designed for Internet Explorer. In particular, a lot of text appears on top of other text in many places.
The HTML is horribly malformed. The body tag isn't closed before a second body tag starts. And a second head section is found near the bottom.

Basically, this site is not well designed and many people could have trouble using it. It doesn't appear to be very informative either. Please try to find a better source of information. It's formatted fine in my Firefox (both OSX and WinXP 1.5.0.1). I agree, the site is terribly organized and has horrible advertizing, but until a better list is found/compiled I think the link should stay. I spent some time searching for a site that listed all the laptops with Turion chips so I could compare them (I even emailed AMD!), and this is all I found. Kslays 16:33, 21 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changed incorrect codename 'Toledo' for the new Turion 64 X2 parts. These are revision F2 parts codenamed 'Taylor' with an on-die DDR2 momory-controller - they are NOT derived from let alone identical with dual-core Desktop parts codenamed 'Toledo' which are rev. I read that the MK-36 is actually a Richmond 90nm SOI with virtualization, not a Lancaster. It's Socket S1 too.

WP:PLANTS banner mistake[edit]

Thanks to the IP user who removed the automated WP:PLANTS banner. Just wanted to leave a note and let you know why it was placed on the page. Apparently, Talk:Turion was still a redirect. Turion is a botanical term and was intended to be tagged with the WikiProject banner, but when my bot, BotanyBot, encounters a redirect, it skips to that redirected page and places the banner there. Hence why this page got tagged. Sorry about that. I'll also place a note at the top of the Turion article to lead users to this page if they were intended to get here instead of the turion article.
