I'm not sure how NPOV that last paragraph is. -- Zoe

It seems totally NPOV to me; "enormous success" is not subjective, as it is a definitive adjective/noun combination that is accurate. The show was enormously successful. You could argue that "great success" would be less NPOV but in the longrun they mean approximately the same thing.

Standardisation[edit]

It occurs to me that the Queer as Folk US and UK pages should probably reflect each other a bit better. By which i mean the sub-headings should be the same so better comparisons between the two series can be made by others. I am fairly certain, though have no references to support, that the UK series received numerous awards, however is lacking a section on this. a potential for the future maybe? Masterplan79th

Music of QAF[edit]

There was a CD (or two) of music for the UK series which should probably be referenced. The soundtrack of the series was very progressive and a big part of the production that carried over to the US version. Benjiboi 10:54, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There was a double-CD for Series 1 and a later single disc for Series 2. It may be worth mentioning that the CDS featured the music actually used in the series, while the (at least initiate) video releases had to use some cover/alternative versions for rights reasons. Age of Consent in the US[edit]

Queer as Folk (UK TV series) → Queer as Folk — - clear primary topic, parent show of the NA show, gets four times as many views as the NA show. Unwritten(?) rule is that when we know one thing gives its name to the other(s) on a dab page, we give the original the name in the absence of other reasons (see also This Woman's Work and Ophelia, both RMs that I created for the same reason, that were successful). Although i agree the UK version is far more important (and much better than the US attempt), removing the disambiguation has no benefit to readers. If most readers are looking for the US version, they should at least get to a disambiguation page that helps them navigate to their desired version.   • Oppose - clear-cut need for disambiguation and I would be willing to venture a guess that the majority of people would (rightly or wrongly) since WP is located in the US think of the American (or "North American" as the article tweely has it) series as the primary usage. "age of consent for gay men"?[edit]

The article says that "the age of consent for gay men in the UK at the time was 18".

Can someone clarify this (and change if needed) - i.e., is this some sort of an in-joke from the show (in which case it should be noted as such and attributed to whichever character said it), or is it vandalism to the article?

I highly doubt that there's literally a separate age of consent for gay men! But hey, if I'm wrong... enlighten me!

Yes, there was a separate age of consent for gay men since it was decriminalised in 1967. The Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 2000 equalised it at 16.--Britannicus (talk) 11:28, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Number of series and episodes...[edit]

There is no list of series/episodes or info on why the series was "axed" or anything. There is only info on the continuing re-incarnations. What is the standard for this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friends

i know "Friends" is incomparable, but there is a table of series and dates and such. Should there at least be an outline of this information?

it seems there are just two serieses. The first with 8, the second with two longer episodes. This is based on the 4OD episodes available, which ends in a complete manner c.f. http://onthebox.netfirms.com/Articles/BritQAF2/QAF2.html.

Cast[edit]

There is some very detailed cast information here, but I'm not convinced it's accurate. For instance, "Lee Warburton as Piero McCarthy" - in the actual show credits, which are surely the definitive source, he's credited simply as "striking man". If the cast list is really very long and detailed (I haven't looked, admittedly) then it should likely be trimmed down, perhaps to principal characters (main credits) and recurring roles. "Striking Man" hardly sounds worthy of inclusion. Doniago (talk) 13:45, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
