Musical Style[edit]

does anyone else think that the description of 'it is characterized by heavy, distorted guitar riffs and catchy, melodic choruses.' for glam metal is too vague? this description could be used for metalcore, power metal, and the poppier metal bands? --DrMotley (talk) 13:05, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect track name[edit]

Mick Mars words at the end of the title track[edit]

What does Mick Mars actually say at the end of the title track: "Dr. Feelgood". Is it relly Mick? Incorrect album sales[edit]

Re-Release[edit]

2009 Reissue[edit]

Ok, there is a bit of mistake here. In 2009 Crue actually released 2 different versions of this. The "20th Aniversary Edition" in the US. And the "20th Aniversary Edition: Duluxe Edition" in Europe, presumably because of the different record label. The track listed are for the US one. In Europe the first disc was the original album. The second contains the tracks from the 2003 reissue as well as live recordings from their "live around the world 89-90" tour of Girls, Girls, Girls, Red Hot, All in the name of Rock and Dr Feelgood (far better quality than the released on the American version :P :P :P)

Legacy ?[edit]

Regarding this "Lars Ulrich of Metallica asked Bob Rock to produce their self-titled album after being impressed with Rock's production work on Dr. Feelgood" I really don't think that James would let Lars make such an important decision by himself. Lars couldn't decide between paper or plastic if he had to. I like the way that it's worded here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metallica_(album) better "Metallica was impressed with Bob Rock's production work on Mötley Crüe's Dr. Feelgood (1989) and decided to hire him to work on their album." Please consider changing it so that it doesn't sound like Lars had an original thought, because that thought would then be lonely. Thanks and of course, Cheers! Critical Reception ?[edit]

So many issues with these two sentences ("Dr. Feelgood" and "Kickstart My Heart" were nominated for Grammy awards for Best Hard Rock Performance, but lost twice to Living Colour.[16] Mötley Crüe also won an award at the American Music Awards in January 1991 for Dr. Feelgood: the best Hard rock/Heavy metal album of the year.):

1. I was really confused on how they could lose twice to the same band. Very incomplete wording. A little research shows that they lost to the same band two years in a row, which is even more stunning. I would word this as ""Dr. Feelgood" and "Kickstart My Heart" were nominated for Grammy awards for Best Hard Rock Performance in 1990 and 1991, but lost in both years to Living Colour."

2. The next sentence starts with "Mötley Crüe also won...". Again, very confusing because "also" connotes that you are describing the same thing in the second sentence as you did in the first. Since we talk about them losing in the first sentence, "also" makes no sense in the context of the second sentence.

3. The second sentence is also way too wordy, putting what award they won at the end of the sentence, after a colon no less, very bad grammatically. Recommend changing to "Mötley Crüe won the award for the best Hard rock/Heavy metal album of the year at the American Music Awards in January 1991 for Dr. Feelgood."
