Ordering of Bush sources[edit]

I appreciate your supporting my suggestion on Talk:George W. Bush. Some people tend to discount unsigned comments, though. You can edit the page to sign and date-stamp your comment by adding four tildes at the end: ~~~~.

This trick of using the tildes is part of the standard orientation information that members of the Welcoming Committee give to new editors. I see they haven't gotten to you yet. While you wait, you can read this version, which was left at the top of my Talk page months ago when I started out.

the rfc etc[edit]

I agree it has done nothing substantial. There was an investigation into FoC's use of anon IPs to circumvent 3RR but that hasn't produced results yet. I'm sure you've read all about it. If you think we need to bring in admins etc to resolve this by all means do so, but check with Ran, Mark, Mandel et al. They should have something to say. The problem is we're not dealing with someone who trade in facts - we're dealing with a persistent POV-pusher who doesn't seem to realise his non-existent sources count for nothing in wikipedia. The alternative would be for consensus to develop -around- FoC. If we could get a core group to specify which of his claims is patently false (for example, the as near as I can tell completely made up claim of "John Rabe, Arms dealer!"), and then have that group agree to shephard the articles on question over time, that might be a reasonable way forward. Hi Xanadu, thanks for the message. Frankly I don't even think we need an RfA... it's clear that FoC is not editing in good faith, besides, his claims are so ridiculous and unsubstantiated we need not take him seriously. This is not the first time Nanjing Massacre et al has come under attack, I think, and the 2 archive pages can testify to that. ;) So don't feed the troll, and if he tries to pick a fight just dismiss him. We've all tried to talk and reason - not much results produced. This whole thing has lasted for some 3 months now, IIRC, and August's Nanjing Massacre is pretty much the same as May's... :( we need to get on with life and ignore the provocateurs, who like nothing better than making us halt our progress on making this article better...

Photos of surfing maneuvres[edit]

Concerning the need for more images in the surfing article, I was wondering what could be offered to the owner of an image in the way of exposure. Is there a policy restricting the information that can be included in the caption accompanying such an image, e.g. could it include the name of the surfer, the photographer or perhaps a statement like "image courtesy of" or "screen shot from (the movie title)", etc?--Maradja 11:04, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

File:Pomona in LA County map.png is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:CAMap-doton-Pomona.PNG. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis.
