Stair Chair[edit]

Stairchairs aren't exactly the same as wheelchairs. Is that a bit basic?

Scoop ?[edit]

A question from a franch guy: is "scoop" the term used for "grab and put on the stretcher" ? Is there any existing article about this, or should one create something like Scoop (first aid)? (This to be linked to fr:premiers secours : relevage)

As for "scoop" (from Talk:Stretcher), it's a bit out of my field, but certainly there are "scoop stretchers" (the kind that you can slip under the patient without moving him - you can see examples and maybe get translation ideas at this catalog), but I think it is sort of slang for the process of "grab and put on the stretcher": for relevage I would simply say lifting. ("Lifting" for going from the ground to the stretcher, "moving" for moving the stretcher to the ambulance, "transporting" for getting to the hospital). Merger proposal[edit]

Two quick points. 1) I've made a major revision to the Stretcher article. The original was rated a Start grade article. Since this was flagged as a high importance article by WP:EMS, I made some large rewrites in an attempt to improve the quality of this article. As such, I've incorporated several sections from other relevant Wikipedia articles. I feel that I've already included a large part of the information contained in the Gurney article. Also 2) I think that Gurney is another common synonym for stretcher. Having two articles defining the same concept (indeed, sharing the same photo to illustrate this) is redundant and should be fixed with a Merge followed by a redirect. Thoughts? Cornish medical person and inventor[edit]

Forgotten from history, but with a local museum dedicated to him, in the C19, he invented a highly efficient stove that was taken to the Antarctic, and also heated British Parliament, invented the hydrogen oxygen flame, the precursor of the acetylene torch, he added lime which created the limelight used in the parliament replacing candles until electricity came in, then it was used in theatre, and other inventions.
