Little is mentioned about RAF Bomb Disposal, for instance, first german bomb recovered from Sullom Voe by RAF personnel, first capacitor discharger developed at RAF Manby, School of air Armament. First demolition squads all services trained at RAF Manby. During WW2 RAF had many squadrons, including BD Flights that landed in Europe on D Day +2, that scheduled for D Day being sunk before reaching the beach. At this moment only one squadron is in being No 5131, it was at my instigation (whilst WO of the EOD Squadron)the original Squadron number plate was returned to service.
