For long time it was here that she is Serbian Australian, what she is and her name was shown in Serbian Cyrillic: Холи Рејчел Вукадиновић. Who now vandalize this page and remove all of that even when it was fine referenced? Her surname goes after Serb dad Rajko?

Some sources:

" Gilles Nuytens: You are also in the cast of the hit TV show Prison Break, how did you land on the show? Holly Valance: Like everyone else. I auditioned. I didn’t think I had a chance though because the girls I was up against really had Slavic accents so I thought I was screwed, turns out my Serbian roots kicked in and I was able to pull it off. Quoting from WP:OPENPARA, "Ethnicity or sexuality should not generally be emphasized in the opening". There is no evidence that she holds Serbian citizenship. Nymf hideliho! 19:48, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Does she have English one? However even if she doesn't have it, she belong to Serbian Australian. And I will let her know on twitter that you or whoever delete such facts. She is not ashamed of her roots, as you see, she speaks about it in interview.178.253.217.190 (talk) 19:54, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I've removed the English part and just left it as Australian. 2 lines of K303 19:50, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Every Serb or Serb rooted person in wikipedia has his or her name in national, Serbian Cyrillic (i.e. Nikola Tesla)... who and why delete it with Holly's? It's vandalism!

Serbian Cyrillic: Холи Рејчел Вукадиновић Put it back please!178.253.217.190 (talk) 19:58, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Source? 2 lines of K303 20:00, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Source what for? For Serbian Cyrillic letters? Do you read me? Every Serb and Serb origin person in wikipedia have their name written in Serbian Cyrillic (like i.e. Nikola Tesla). Holly is Serb root and her full name in Serbian Cyrillic is as I wrote up. Or to give you Serbian alphabet to check it out?178.253.217.190 (talk) 20:03, 5 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

She describes her father has Montenegrin: https://twitter.com/hollycandy/status/271957994739204097 Richard Gadsden (talk) 20:52, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

I've managed to secure images from Universal Online Australia [1] to use images of Holly Valance and albums so long as we abide by their terms and agreements. All shots, except Image:Kiss_kiss_-_limited_edition.jpg (which is a limited edition cover which I think should be fairuse for historical reasons) will be publicity shots and we'll have their permission to use them. - Ta bu shi da yu 07:39, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Lawsuit[edit]

I'd like to know how many songs she's actually written herself, or whether she just gets away with being a singer because she wears next to nothing. I also haven't noted the fact that she got sued (and lost) after she dropped her old manager. - Ta bu shi da yu 09:16, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Being a singer does not necessarily mean being a songwriter. Tin Pan Alley is alive and well. -- Karada 10:18, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Fair enough. Well, I've added the sections where she dumped her manager, as well as links to the court transcripts and online newspaper articles - Ta bu shi da yu 10:35, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Well, the article needs info on how her Sister got sick and her current movies she'll be making. I don't keep up with her much though. She might look good, but she seems awful. - Ta bu shi da yu 11:28, 20 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Ethnicity and religion[edit]

It says her father is "Serbian-Croatian". What does that mean? Is he a Serb or a Croat? Is he from Serbia or Croatia? Vukadinović seems like a Serbian name. It also says she was educated at a Roman Catholic high school. Does that mean she's catholic or she just went to a catholic school?

Answer: she's Serbian, her father's both name and surname are typically Serbian. (Verbatimdat (talk) 16:08, 1 March 2010 (UTC))[reply]

Albums as separate articles?[edit]

It seems like their inclusion in the main article just adds a cluttered look and even at the expense of having more album stubs added into the mix, it would be fair to at least separate the full length releases into their own articles if they are notable enough to even be mentioned. Anyone else agree? 65.145.212.238 05:55, 17 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Born in NZ?[edit]

i think she was actually born in new zealand and moved to australia at age 3 or 4. (embarrassed to admit that i know anything about holly valance ;-> )

Kiss Kiss[edit]

I know this might seem like splitting hairs, or however the saying goes, but wouldn't it be more likely, given her Serbian heritage, that the song "Kiss Kiss" was based on the Serbian cover-song "Afrodiziak" by Jelena Karleuša (which in turn was based on "Simarik") rather than on the Turkish original? Hecko 02:28, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, I recall interviews at the time stated that it was based on the Turkish song. Would be good if someone could find a reference to substantiate this, though... Robwingfield (talk) 08:59, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

What is with all the random images just randomly shoved into the middle of the article? Celebrity-Benji 07:21, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Photo[edit]

I know its always good to use a free-use image, but the current one is of pretty poor quality, and thus doesnt really represent the subject that well imo. Valet5 16:08, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead or Alive[edit]

The movie is already out for a while now, I think it's time to remove the future tense from the paragraph.

Reply[edit]

Tell me about it, everytime i replace the bloody thing with a secure image, someone retracts it to the old one. WHY!!!!!????? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.38.227.57 (talk) 21:18, 18 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

CSI in 2007[edit]

I've removed the sentence, "Valance will be apperaring as State Attorney Vera Mantini in CSI Miami in 2007.", as it is unsourced. Please provide a reliable source before putting it back. -- Donald Albury 16:21, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I want to why the external link to http://www.hollyvalanceonline.com/ is allowed. most pages have "coming soon" loaded with adsense ads.

Normally official web sites are allowed, but I just removed the 'official' site because it requires registration, and the forum site, as well. Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided says to not link to such sites. -- Donald Albury 12:41, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism[edit]

Can somebody please go through the article and clean up please. I am not a fan, (linked from one article to another), but find the lines toffee crisp, £3 record and sponsorship deals quite hard for anyone to believe. I looked back through several revisions and it appears to be vandalism still left over from previously that nobody has spotted. I did however burst out laughing when I read about her 147. Didn't even know she played snooker. Steve hill4 22:41, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can edit the article and remove anything you think is nonsense (explain what you have done in the edit summary). If you are not sure about something, add {{fact}} after any 'facts' you question. This will place a (citations needed) tag in the article. If citations are not supplied in a reasonable time the item can be deleted. -- Donald Albury 21:27, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

B-class?[edit]

Why is this article rated b-class? I don't think it has that much info on her. Tarkan is rated b-class as well as has much much more info. --Teemeah Gül Bahçesi 10:30, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The merging of Please Please Please Me[edit]

I have added the merge template to the Please Please Please Me article on some reasons per Wikipedia:MUSIC#Albums_and_songs:

  • "It ranked on national or significant music charts". This song has not.
  • "That have won significant awards or honors or that have been performed independently by several notable artists". This song has not.
  • "Separate article is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article; permanent stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album". This song has only two lines in the whole article. Lillygirl (talk) 10:34, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Can you not merge it into the 3rd album article? -mattbuck (Talk) 12:16, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Someone has already merged the third album into the Holly Valance article. Lillygirl (talk) 21:34, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested photo[edit]

Dating[edit]

Is the info about who Holly is dating really relevant to the article? Lots of famous people have boy/girlfriends, and we tend to ignore it as nonnotable, unless there has been specific covereage about it. -mattbuck (Talk) 19:37, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox[edit]

Her singing career effectively ended years ago, I'm not sure of the protocol, but does that still warrant a music artist template or should it change since she's full-time actress now? 155.69.192.22 (talk) 08:13, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The current one should probably stay as it details both aspects of career. Pinkadelica 09:12, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Command and Conquer[edit]

She actually played the character Brenda Snow for the game, in video cutscenes in between missions. The character was not cgi, so she didn't just do the voice.

Spelling in the Serbian language[edit]

I removed spelling of her name in the Serbian language as I saw it as unnecessary; she is an Australian while only her father is Serbian. Mattbuck reverted me without much explanation, "may as well keep it...". Is there any reason to have the spelling in Serbian?

P.S.: This is a typical case like the one with Jennifer Aniston, where spelling of her name in the Greek language was removed; her father is Greek while she is American. Any input? Cheers. — Kedaditalk 16:54, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has been a week since I raised the issue and amended per WP:SILENCE. Cheers. — Kedaditalk 02:47, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Generally that would only be included in brackets if born a different nationality per WP:BLP. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:52, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There appears to be no more need for a parenthetical Serbian spelling in this article than, say, an Arabic one (هولي فلانس). The subject of the article appears to have no particular connection to Serbia other than ancestry, and there isn't even a Serbian version of the article, which emphasizes that lack of connection. Doremo (talk) 03:13, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Third album[edit]

I've just undone the damage caused by the deletion of the third album information (as well as the subsequent edits). If there is any reliable evidence of a third album, then can that be added with citations please? Kesmet 00:51, 9 December 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kesmet (talkcontribs)

Deleted Grimsby Town reference[edit]

"Holly Valance is rumoured to be in the running to be the new ambassador for Grimsby Town Football Club for the 2017/2018 season."
