The wording of this statement[edit]

"I accept to multi-license"? Really poor grammar. Maybe "I accept the multi-licensing of ..." RickK 07:13, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)

I think it is "legal-speak", that is, it sounds like something a lawyer in the U.S. might say when writing up a contract. It could similarly read "I agree to..." and it would be rather simple to change all of them to read something else. You won't hear an objection from me. For what its worth, I didn't write the original language (I copied it) but there is a pretty good chance that Maveric149 did, so maybe you should ask him. Actually I checked the history of the "first" banner, and it seems that Zhen Lin may have worded it that way. -- Ram-Man 14:42, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)

Port to Commons[edit]

It would be useful if this is ported to Wikimedia Commons (and subsequently translated). – Kaihsu 17:27, 2005 May 29 (UTC)

Emphasis[edit]

I'd like to bold the words "text contributions" or maybe just "text" to empasis that not all of the user's contributions are included. — Sverdrup 17:03, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Edit text in tag?[edit]

Shouldn't the text at the beginning of this tag be edited to be all-encompassing, like this:

  • I agree to release my eligible contributions – text, images, and/or other media – unless otherwise stated, ...

or similar? Many users (like me!) create images that should have a similar proviso associated with them. Thoughts? Thanks! E Pluribus Anthony 20:44, 23 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wikimedia licensing update[edit]

Historical[edit]

I believe this template should be marked historical and deprecated. All contributors dually license their text contributions in accordance with the WP:TOU. That dual license is retroactive in accordance with the licensing transition of 2009. Accordingly this template is now both inaccurate ("I agree to multi-license my text contributions, unless otherwise stated" doesn't apply) and just wrong ("Please be aware that other contributors might not do the same"). It has a high potential to mislead or at least confuse those who see it on user pages. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:51, 8 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Template-protected edit request on 26 July 2021[edit]

I request that this template be moved to Category:Wikipedia copyright templates. It doesn't belong in Category:Copyright user templates it should be only for userboxes. Catfurball (talk) 17:34, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
