The General Court of Massachusetts are the legislative bodies of the government of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Massachusetts legislature is located at Beacon Hill in the capital city, Boston. The General Court first met in 1630. The current assembly is the 191st since the General Court convened on October 25, 1780, following the ratification of the Constitution of Massachusetts.
