I'm confused:

" It was built as a memorial to the 114,000 men and women of Victoria who served in World War I, but soon came to be seen as Australia's major memorial to all the 60,000 Australians"

shouldn't the first number be smaller than the second? like: first build for the (number) Australians just from Victoria, but soon came to be seen as memorial for all the (bigger number) Australians who died...

The first number is those who served, the second those who died. Joe D (t) 11:22, 10 Nov 2004 (UTC)
