foreclosure wipes out lis pendens?[edit]

"A foreclosure will wipe out a lis pendens, unless the mortgage or other lien which is being foreclosed was created after the suit was filed." Are you sure about this? I thought a lis pendens stayed because the subsequent buyer at the foreclosure sale had constructive notice. --98.210.115.1 (talk) 00:35, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When the lawsuit concludes with a foreclosure the lis pendens ends. If the foreclosure does not go through, then yes it continues with the buyers constructive notice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lispendens85 (talk • contribs) 12:27, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In any case, the statement is untrue of any lis pendens except one that is about the foreclosure. And no recording ever gets wiped out or ends automatically -- someone has to tell the recorder to do it. So I deleted this paragraph because it's just too vague. Completely different meanings[edit]

If I am understanding correctly, the meaning of lis pendens in English, and the corresponding French Wikipedia article which is linked here (Litispendance) are totally different meanings.
