um, is this all happening in somebody's head or something? User:Wetman

No, it's not; it is a fictional game in which mechanical puppets are controlled through a brain-computer interface. -HurriSbezu

No Longer a Stub?[edit]

I'm wondering if people think it'd be alright to take off the stub tag for this article now that it's been expaneded. FleetAdmiralJ 23:22, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. For a "stub", it's ridiculously long. Minami-chan 14:17, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh Reference[edit]

"This is a CLAMP's response to Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh!..."

I don't know about that. Can someone please cite a source like an interview or something. Zephyrprince 01:15, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't even notice it there. I took it off unless someone gives a good reason to put it back. It clearly seems to be POV unless, as you say, a source is cited. FleetAdmiralJ 18:37, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding to Character descriptions[edit]

I'm expanding the character descriptions in spurts at the moment, doing the first five characters tonight, and I'll probably work on more later. Also, a couple other thoughts. I'm sort of modeling this character section after the one found in the Ai Yori Aoshi article, possibly with pictures of each of the major character, and adding voice acting information to the character descriptions instead of having a long list below (the AYA article just has the Japanese voice actors, I would probably put both).

I'm not sure if adding photos would be overkill for this series, but I've thought about it. Also, if people think that having the list of major characters with extended descriptions and photos is too much for this article, we could always split it off.

I may also try to beef up the angel descriptions a little if I can, though thats a lower priority. FleetAdmiralJ 03:50, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The angel entry phrases were added to the pages. It was a low priority thing, but just a little bit of something to add to the standard facts.. I'd also like to know where the birthdates came in..? DiscardedDream (talk) 00:50, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tagalog voice actors?[edit]

I'm not sure why we need voice actor lists other than Japanese and English on the english version of this article. If another language's version of the article wishes to list the voice actors in that language's translation, then fine, but I'm not sure it's a great idea to start adding voice actors for every single language that may have a translation on here. I'll wait for a little while before I take it off unless someone else takes it off first or someone can argue why we need a third language's voice actors on the page. FleetAdmiralJ 15:27, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one who appears to have dissented, I took them off. Tagalog is apparently a phillipino language and, while IMDB likes to list them on the page for angelic layer, I see no reason why it should be listed on the english version of the article. FleetAdmiralJ 17:11, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Voice actors integration[edit]

Does anybody else thinks it would be a good idea to integrate the Voice actors into the character biographies using the Template:Anime voices. (Duane543 16:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Yes, I think it is a good idea to have the actors listed with their characters in the character section. Not sure exactly how to go about integrating it (will get around to it if I have the time), but it is something that needs to be done. --EmperorBrandon 07:13, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The characters is getting to the stage where it could be split into another article. --Squilibob 10:51, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It is split now!!! (Duane543 22:50, 22 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

GBA game reference (actually lack of)[edit]

I have seen some videos of an Angelic Layer video game, and I read that it was released. I'd think it would be at least referred. --Ihitterdal 17:25, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, me as well. I'll see what information I can get on it. Thanks for your inquiry! DiscardedDream (talk) 00:43, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's ALL the reception??[edit]

I think the section Reception is too small. Shouldn't we look for more information (perhaps official reviews about the series)?200.71.186.240 04:36, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good to me. -- Ned Scott 04:47, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I propose we add into this section a bit about Angelic Layer MUSH, a game that has been online for quite a while. After all, there are a few other pages that mention long-running text-based games about them, why not add it to this one? Rockhound 06:04, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Episodes?[edit]

Why isn't there (at the very least) a list of episodes in the anime? --Dinoguy1000 Talk 17:12, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Number of Manga Volumes[edit]

The article talks about the number of tapes/DVDs for the set of anime, but not about how many volumes the manga actually is. Does anyone know? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.55.55.31 (talk) 20:56, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is discussed in the infobox. There were five volumes. --Dinoguy1000 21:02, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, sorry. I just had a hard time finding it. 71.55.55.31 (talk) 15:31, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is Icchan having an affair with Shuko while married to Chitose Hibiya?[edit]

I don't know if anyone noticed it, but in the anime, Icchan does not appear to be married to Chitose Hibiya from Chobits. In the Chobits manga, Chitose stated to Hideki Motosuwa that she was married to Icchan during the process of developing Angelic Layer, and I have watched the whole series of Angelic Layer, and came across Icchan having feeings for Shuko Suzuhara. I have not read the Angelic Layer manga, and I am not sure if Icchan has a brief romance sequence with Shuko in there, but if someone could do some investigating on the manga, we may be able to conclude that Icchan was having an affair with Shuko Suzuhara. In the anime though, it may be a definite possibility that Chitose Hibiya was Icchan's second object of affection after Shuko, seeing as there is no proof she said yes to marrying him.

If someone could get back to me on this, it would be great! Also, if we decide to point out the differences between the anime and manga, this detail could possibly be included.

DiscardedDream (talk) 04:54, 17 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Only the anime seemed to suggest any kind of romantic feelings as far as I know. In the manga, their relationship seems to be purely platonic.--Gb supernova (talk) 14:50, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hatoko~Tomoyo Daidouji~Kotoko[edit]

I think Hatoko bears a closer resemblance to Kotoko, Dragonfly's persocom in Chobits, than to Tomoyo, even the names are alike, the haircut and the serene face expresion, so that should be changed —Preceding unsigned comment added by PawDragmire (talkcontribs) 00:12, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there's no reason to note any such similarities in the first place – they're non-notable original research and fancruft. —Dinoguy1000 17:00, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, she is right. I believe that since CLAMP does a lot of crossover work, it is probably substantial to say that they recycle the looks of old characters to look like new ones. After all, Magic Knight Rayearth's Hikaru was obviously recycled to make a new Hikaru. I think Hikaru's hair was recycled to look like Yumi Oumura's hair from Chobits. Hideki Motosuwa looks similar to one of the characters in Legal Drug. How is it non-notable? However, I think that maybe Suzuka and Kotoko may be related instead of Kotoko and Hatoko, but it could be either because it is quite obvious that Suzuka is a mirror image of Hatoko, only a little different. Suzuka and Kotoko look more alike with the hair, the shogun vest is the same, and Kotoko has suzus in her hair, as does Suzuka. The facial expressions there are also the same and it's probably notable. There is a persocom in the Chobits manga as well that may resemble Blanche on the first page. DiscardedDream (talk) 05:31, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eh? Hmm... I honestly can't remember my train of thought when I first replied to this... I was likely *not* thinking along the lines of "they're both Clamp series, so there's probably some crossover", though. In any case, especially with how Clamp does their crossovers, you'll need a reliable source to cite any claims of recycling designs (be it mentions in the manga/anime itself, interviews with the creators (pretty unlikely given that it's Clamp we're talking about here), etc.), since otherwise, it's original research and personal interpretation, no matter how obvious the similarities may seem. —Dinoguy1000 17:35, 2 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Staff lists[edit]

Are you even paying attention to what you are writing? Staff is not the same as Cast, so having a staff list has nothing to do with "voice actor information being presented with individual characters". "Staff" includes such things as the director, character designer, composer for the music, production company, etc.—all stuff that's entirely encyclopedic and allowed per WP:MOS-AM. So, please stop removing the staff section, Dinoguy1000. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 05:20, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

First off, I only removed the staff list once. Secondly, it's entirely possible I wasn't paying attention to what I wrote, considering the time here when I did it (and now). In fact, I probably shouldn't be editing at all right now... ;P —Dinoguy1000 05:45, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize, i mixed up two rainbow-like usernames. Still, this is a staff list, not a voice actor list, and nothing in the MOS-AM says that staff lists are unacceptable. Nothing says that voice actor lists are unacceptable, either, just that detailed character information sections are preferred and encouraged over cast lists. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 02:59, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Eheh, sorry about that. Now that I've had some sleep, I understand and agree with you, although I do have to point out that I've seen another experienced editor or two removing staff lists (names shall remain unmentioned ;) ), citing project consensus (IIRC), though I can't vouch for the validity or circumstances of their edits. In any case, I'll not be removing staff lists in the future until I have a better grasp of how they are preferably handled/presented. —Dinoguy1000 05:03, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry if I removed the list in the first place. Greg Jones II 14:50, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cast lists[edit]

Also, while cast lists are discouraged in favor of voice actor information being presented with individual characters, the consensus is not to remove the lists of cast lists unless you are replacing them with that detailed character list. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 05:24, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize, Nihonjoe. Many articles in the anime and manga scope have been cleaned up to meet the quality standards. :) Greg Jones II 14:44, 27 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Cleaning up to meet quality standards is perfectly fine, but unless you can expand the cast list, it shouldn't just be removed. It's acceptable to have a generic list until such time as someone can expand it to give more details about the characters. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 02:55, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
