Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Journey of the Magi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Source text. Should be somewhere else (where?). Thue 21:30, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)

  • Wikisource? :-) It depends on the poem's copyright status, which I imagine is PD but which we'd want to be sure of. Jwrosenzweig 22:01, 14 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Possibly a copyright problem, although many other sites have it. Andrewa 01:04, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
    • Keep. Now a useful article. Andrewa 09:44, 16 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete: Definite copyvio. I have my Selected Poems open in my hand right now: "Copyright 1964 by T. S. Eliot" followed by "Requests for permission to make copies of any part of the work should be mailed to Permissions Department" etc. Faber and Faber (orig publisher) is very generous about these things, but there is a copyright. It's very likely that TSE left instructions about open academic use for his works, and it's almost certain that Faber & Faber simply choose not to attack web sourcers, but the poems have a copyright, and Wikipedia makes a point of not publishing copyrighted material. That said, it is possible to have an article on the poem that isn't a posting of the poem, and I'll be happy to blank the poem and write a discussion of it. Geogre 10:56, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep* now. The article no longer contains the copyvio material. More sage things can be said, but the article is now entirely about the subject of the journey of the magi in art & literature.
  • Keep in present form. Good article now. Dpbsmith 16:18, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
