Question[edit]

Why does the Women's magazines section have a link to List of Women's magazines but not the section for Men's magazines?

Probably because it is such a long list. But I think there should be a separate category for "fashion" magazines.

Gay magazines[edit]

Should List_of_United_States_magazines#Gay_magazines have a link to List_of_LGBT_publications#United_States ? --EarthFurst 23:45, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How long should this list get?[edit]

This site lists more than 6,000 magazines, primarily ones that publish(ed) fiction. -- Donald Albury 19:41, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicates[edit]

Some magazines are listed more than once, under different categories. Any thoughts? -- Donald Albury 00:24, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category tags on magazine pages?[edit]

cant these magazines be categorized from their pages with Agriculture magazines, Architecture magazines, etc. categories added?Lakinekaki 19:14, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note that there is such categorization [1]. Why isn't it used here? Lakinekaki 19:16, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What do you mean by 'here'? This article is a list. If there is an article for a magazine in this list, then that article should be categorized. This list is already in three categories, including Category:American magazines. -- Donald Albury 03:20, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What I meant is, this list needs to be maintained manually itself, while when using category tags for architecture magazines etc., magazines are automatically added to lists. For example, go to Drovers, and you'll see that it doesn't have agriculture magazine tag, and therefore had to be added to that section manually, while if the tag is simply added to the article page, it will be in agriculture category. Lakinekaki 16:02, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No way around that, as far as I know. Of course, someone to write a bot to do it, but I'm not the effort would be worth it. -- Donald Albury 22:54, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure if The Economist should be on here as it is registered as a newspaper and thus avoids Value Added Tax in countries that have VAT on magazines 15:58, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

ISSNs[edit]

  • Not a single ISSN is listed on this page. Wouldn't it be more appropriate to untag this page and tag the individual pages on publications that could have an ISSN listed but do not? --Keesiewonder talk 22:43, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vanity Fair Magazine[edit]

I would like to put Vanity Fair magazine on this list of United States magazines. But what do you all think would be the appropriate category for Vanity Fair? Please let me know. Thanks. Mr. Brain (talk) 18:53, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, folks. Please disregard my request. I found Vanity Fair, it was under General Interest. Silly me. Mr. Brain (talk) 18:55, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Qualifications for inclusion?[edit]

I cannot see any preamble or editors' notes about what is supposed to be included in this list. Needs to be stated in the lead. Is it intended to be blue links only? Are defunct magazines included, or should they be migrated to the defunct list? Laterthanyouthink (talk) 11:30, 31 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
