Sword of Seals use = Dragon blood?![edit]

The assertion that Roy can only use the SoS because he has Dragon blood is original research, I believe. I seem to remember a line or so about how Roy was only chosen to use it because he had the Fire Emblem, not because of anything else. He even asked about why he was 'chosen', I believe, and that's the answer he got from the Princess of Bern. I know this has been speculated about on forums... let me try to retrieve the lines from a fan translation of the script. Should be a link on the Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals page... 169.229.121.94 19:10, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, it no longer is, but was able to find link on previous version of page. Here are the lines (sorry, it was Elphin, not the Princess of Bern):

Roy
"Yeah... I'm fine. So this is Hartmut's sword, the Sword of Seals... Am I
allowed to use it...?"

Elphin
"It has been said for centuries that the best swords choose their owners. The
sword is in your hands now. You were chosen by it."

Roy
"But it's only coincidence that I'm holding it..."

Elphin
"What we may think of as being coincidental... Even that might be part of our
fate."

Roy
"......"

Nothing in there about Dragon blood, and as Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals came out BEFORE Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, it can be better argued that Roy was NOT originally intended to have dragon blood. Based on Blazing Sword, it's equally valid to say he could wield it because he was Ninian's son and had dragon blood as it was to say he could wield it because

He was Nergal's grandson.

Not necessarily, since Nergal's daughter Ninian isn't the only girl Eliwood can marry in Rekka no Ken. He can also marry Lyn (half-Lycian, half-Sacaean) or Fiora (Illian). Lunamaria 12:08, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
