POV[edit]

The current article is reasonably informative, but quite POV (hostile to the party). Does someone want to take a shot at de-POV'ing it? -- Jmabel | Talk 01:35, May 10, 2005 (UTC)

Somewhat improved. "…ruthlessness and lack of loyalty…" is still pretty POV to be in the narrative voice of the article. Can we find someone to quote to this effect? -- Jmabel | Talk 18:16, May 20, 2005 (UTC)

…And now seems to have swung the other way, by a partisan of the party. Now they are the "only real" anti-corruption force in the country. Can someone please try to find some citations of people to quote on these things? I am just going to remove POV material, try to keep the substance from both sides, but (well-cited) views would, indeed enhance the article. -- Jmabel | Talk July 4, 2005 17:50 (UTC)

Their proposed law was deemed unconstitutional as it considered all fortunes as "ill gotten", with all facing prosecution unless producing proof of legality. As this is against the presumption of inocence, the law was considered illegal. It is no longer supported by the party, therefore removed reference --Xanthar 18:54, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's also false that "President Basescu insisted". Traian Basescu called this party and his leader an immoral solution and "a compromise of last resort", even on January 6th [1]. This is party POV --Xanthar 18:59, 30 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

relation with historical PC[edit]

The party promotes values such as the tradition, the family, the social solidarity, the justice, the European integration and a nationalism without chauvinism - most of them common with its antecessor, the historical Conservative Party

AFAIK, "Social solidarity", "European integration" and "nationalism without chauvinism" were not characteristic to the historical Conservative Party. bogdan ʤjuʃkə | Talk 14:37, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Youth group[edit]

In the article:

If it is unaffiliated, what is it doing here? I found its web site unilluminating on even its stance toward the party, or whether its politics were similar to those of the party, other than falling under the broad heading of "conservative". -- Jmabel | Talk 06:40, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

POV again[edit]

I believe that this edit introduces POV. It changes "the current party describes itself as sustaining and embracing the values of the historical one" to "the current party sustains and embraces the values of the historical one." The latter seems to me like an endorsement. It is NPOV to say how the party describes itself; it is POV to put that description in Wikipedia's narrative voice.

I already basically reverted this once, so I'll confine myself right now to remarking here, but I would welcome a reversion of this change by someone else. - Jmabel | Talk 20:05, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

So, what was the recent event[edit]

"From 2005 until December 3, 2006, the party was a junior member of the ruling coalition." So, what happened December 3? - Jmabel | Talk 18:00, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The party withdrew from the coalition. Here is the official communiqué. Biruitorul 20:56, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article should be deleted or completely redone[edit]

Because it is completely POV in favour of the PC. It is like it was written by a party member. This is an encycpledia not a PC political pamflet. "sustains and embraces the values of the historical one" "Voiculescu agreed to be taken hostage in exchange for the 3 jurnalists" what the hell? this is a gross oversimplification of the whole incident and makes a unilateral impractical offer look like a clear solution for the problem. These are just a few examples of plain proapanada. Everyone familiar to Romanian politics knows what this party is really about.

Please... something must be done because we don't want people outside Romania to consider the PC as centre-right party with a clear ideology since it is just a union of demagogues and ex-Communist(like mr. Voiculescu) who control parts of the media and appeal to out-dated feelings some people have (same sex marriages etc). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.104.216.79 (talkcontribs) 1 March 2007.

I agree. The recent addition of information about Dan Voiculescu being a collaborator with the Securitate does not fix the general problem. - Jmabel | Talk 05:17, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the present article covers but does not explain the numerous swings of party line. E.g. joining SDP again for the current election. This would be unlikely for a party with genuine conservative - socially conservative orientation. --Miacek (talk) 18:41, 1 December 2008 (UTC) --Miacek (talk) 18:41, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
