David L Rittershouse

Born Oct, 2, 1950 in Skaggs Hospital, City of Branson, Taney County, MO. Resident of City of Forsyth, Taney County, MO during early years. Currently resident of City of Taneyville, Taney County, MO.

Education: Graduate of Central Hight School, Springfield, MO in 1968. Graduate of Soutwest MO State University, Springfield, MO in 1976 with double major, Accounting and Computer Science.

Employment: Various jobs as professional musician, business manager, software programmer. Spent last 17 years in IT with General Electric Motors, Springfield, MO. Currently on one year 'sabbatical' from the rat race. May rejoin in spring 2006.

Hobbies/Interests: Have been playing music since 1957. First instrument was accordian. Played saxophone during grade school and high school. Took up drums in 1963 and play even today. Have some skills at keyboard, other woodwinds, and strings.

Have intersts in technology, archealogy, history, cosmology, astro/nano/quantum phyics, political/social/religious philophy and photography.

Reading is fundamental. Authors include (but certainly not limited to) Mark Twain (whom is an old family friend), Ayn Rand, Ray Bradbury, AC Clarke, Robert Heinlen, Issac Assimov, Agatha Christie, PG Wodehouse, etc.

Love the outdoors. Have 12 acre spread deep in the Missouri woods along a beautiful springfed creek. Love canoeing, flyfishing, and camping and total isolation from the ravages of our modern world.

 Distant Relative: BCM Farthing {Barnett Coffee Moran Farthing}  Born in Monroe Co, MO., July 31, 1836.  Was a childhood friend and school mate of Samuel Clemmens, as well as life-long friend.  BCMF worked as a journalist (with Clemens in St. Joe, MO), author of various books and articles, one of which has been held by family relatives until recently.  Was clerk with Missouri State Sentate, and in general, considered a "character" in early Missouri history.  In his later years, he was considered by many to be the 'model used to create the character Huck Finn', which is one of the most discussed topics of modern American literature.  I am currently organizing all pertinent information so that I can start a Wiki topic which will be entitled:  BCM Farthing
