De Valls Bluff vs DeValls Bluff[edit]

I was under the impression that this city is named "DeValls Bluff", and the only place I see it spelled as three words is on here. The US Census, state of Arkansas, town water tower, USPS, signs in town, and Encyclopedia of Arkansas History and Culture all think it is "DeValls Bluff". This also makes sense since it is named for Jacob M. DeVall. Could someone please let me know if there are specific sources/reasons for the current naming, or else I propose a move to DeValls Bluff, Arkansas. I checked several of my (paper) road atlases and they all show "De Valls" with a space, so that may be the source of the problem.
Checking Google Street View, this sign at the entrance to town doesn't have a space. On the other hand my check of this "USPS site" shows a space while the real USPS indicates either is acceptable. We'll go with how the locals spell it, but I'm inclined to mark the redirect De Valls Bluff as a valid {{R from alternative spelling}} rather than a flat-out misspelling. – wbm1058 (talk) 14:15, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
