Navy[edit]

The F/A-18 Hornet didn't enter service until 1983. Binnie was certainly out of the Navy by 2003...and odds are against him being in front-line fighters at that stage in his career (1983). So did he really fly the F-4 Phantom II at that point? I'm not disputing the "20 years" bit, just as it applies to the F/A-18. -Joseph (Talk) 16:15, 2004 Oct 4 (UTC)

Ah, his bio sheds more light. I'll correct the article. -Joseph (Talk) 17:41, 2004 Oct 5 (UTC)

I don't believe his X Prize flight put him in space (above the 100 km Karnen Line) for 30 minutes. The entire time of flight from separation from the White Knight launch ship to landing was about 30 min, however. Given that his was a suborbital flight (as were Mike Melville's), his actual time above the Karmen Line -- and therefore in space -- would actually be much shorter...possibly on the order of 5 minutes.

How can he be a native of Scotland?[edit]

It shows in the side bar that he was born in Indiana. One or the other cannot be correct. I'm thinking he is not a native of Scotland, but is an American as stated.

FIIK[edit]

Now it says he's a "citizen of Scotland". There is no such thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.33.181.16 (talk) 14:51, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
