Is this article significant?? I want to know whether to put it on Vfd. 66.245.12.170 22:20, 25 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is, involving music --Plato 22:24, 25 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
'"Clarinet Concerto" Nielsen' does give 3000 hits in google, so it is somewhat notable. Wiki is not paper, so there is not much harm in keeping it. Thue 22:26, 25 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
Nielsen is a very famous composer, and this is one of the 20th century's best-known clarinet concerti. --Camembert
This clarinet concerto is one of the standards on the repertoire of the classical clarinettist and one of the hallmarks of 20th century clarinet literature brian stormer (talk) 08:26, 14 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just a personal opinion, but I think Nielsen's clarinet concerto has only one competitor to be the top clarinet concerto of the complete repertoire and that is Mozart's concerto. It has great depth and an enormous emotional range. Next to what is almost hysteria, there are passages of calmth and enormous warmth. At the same time, it has a recognisable structure. The reference to the clarinet player John McCabe, who recorded the concerto on the Unicorn disc label is probably incorrect - I can hardly believe, that the referred person is the same as the clarinet player. I own the LP on which he plays the concerto and can confirm, that he is (was) an exceptionally fine player, combining virtuosity with feeling, having a beautiful tone and a very nice, light vibrato where appropriate.Nl06857 (talk) 00:19, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oxenvad never recorded the concerto (as this article implicitly acknowledges, since the date of the first recording, by Cahuzac in 1947, was 3 years after Oxenvad's death), so the reference to HMV DB 5704 is almost certainly spurious (I can find no other reference to it online apart from in clones of this article). ... and have consequently removed it (the entry read *Aage Oxenvad. Nielsen, His Masters Voice HMV DB 5704) Byrdnuts (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 21:59, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
