Russian parade??[edit]

This section makes no sense: "2015 – Russia stages its biggest ever military parade in Moscow's Red Square to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Victory Day."

It's very local, and hardly significant even for that region. Do we mention biggest ever Austrian military parade? Biggest ever Taiwan military parade? Biggest ever North Korea military parade? I'm sure they have a 'Victory Day' in North Korea too, and certainly they do big parades.

The section seems to be inserted for blatant propaganda of a military celebration in a country that's just earlier used its military to occupy neighbouring state land.

666[edit]

Should we mention that the world population reached 6,666,666,666 on May 9, 2008?

No, we shouldn't. Cosmic Latte (talk) 13:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Not unless something significant happened because of this...which I doubt. Cosmic Latte (talk) 13:35, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It is only an educated estimate. No-one knows the exact number of people in the world, due to the fact that many countries don't register or count births and deaths, and it is very difficult to count people in war zones. Jim Michael (talk) 11:05, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of entries[edit]

In accordance with the guidelines, I've started weeding the Births and Deaths sections by removing entries for celebrities with 0-4 articles in other languages. Where possible, these will be transferred to the relevant Year in Topic articles. As well as making the lists more manageable, this will help with the globalization effort.Deb (talk) 07:49, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mismatch in dates - 1092[edit]

This page cites the 9th of May as the consecration date for the Lincoln Cathedral. However, the page that is referenced by the link for the Lincoln Cathedral[1] says that the date of consecration is May 11th. obviously, one of them is wrong.

Information Britain's webpage on the subject states the 9th of May.[2]

Sacred Destinations' page on the subject also states the 9th of May.[3]

I believe the confusion may lie in the fact that Bishop Remigius died two days before the consecration.

I suggest that the reference in the Lincoln Cathedral page be change to the 9th of May. further research may be needed to corroborate this.

I assume it was you that changed the date on the Lincoln Cathedral page to 9th May? It seems reasonable. Deb (talk) 08:50, 24 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Goku day? holidays and observations?[edit]

No such thing. 2607:FEA8:D5DF:F3D9:410D:2698:8DF2:962A (talk) 11:28, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed this. If they add it again, they will have to provide a reliable reference. Deb (talk) 12:54, 9 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
