Thank you for your appreciation. Are you from SIES too? I have done my schooling from SIES HS, Matunga (Jr. K.G. to 10^th std.), and passed 10^th in March 1990...so I thought there should be something about SIES on wikipedia. However, I have not been particularly successful in getting in touch with any SIES ex-students, let alone SIES wikipedians :-(...

Hey there. I noticed that a couple of your articles were imported from other sources, and have had to remove them. Hmm, which sort of links do you mean? Internal, or external? I'll explain both:

"[[Article]]" creates an internal link to "Article", which looks like "Article".

"[http://www.google.com/ Google]" creates an external link to "Google", which looks like "Google".

This is in regards to image Image:GN Ramachandran.jpg which was deleted. The reason for deletion was that the copyright tag was {{magazinecover}}, but the image was probably not a magazine cover. That tag is a fair use tag and has very specific copyright requirements. Fair use images are not freely licensed, so we can't use them in any way we want, but only in very specific ways as laid out in copyright law. For an example of a magazine cover image used correctly see Allure (magazine). In that case the image is a cover, and the image is being used as an example of the content of the article. We can talk about magazines, but we can't re-purpose their photography without their licensing the work to us. If you have any questions about that let me know. Hi - I had a look at the article sequence profiling tool that you nominated as a featured article candidate, and fixed some of the wiki syntax/did a little copyediting at the beginning. However, if you're interested in seeing a bioinformatics-related featured article, I might suggest working on expanding something that is a broader/"bigger" topic from a non-specialist's perspective, like sequence alignment. The profiling article is useful but there probably just isn't enough information of interest to non-specialists to expand it to the typical featured-article length and style. List of Madras Tamil slang words[edit]

Hello Dr. Ganesan,

You had questioned whether the list above is of encyclopediac nature. I suppose all aspects of a culture whether high or low can be enclopediac in nature as long as it meets the criteria established for this project. Tamil being a conservative and diglossic language, the natural reaction of native speakers is to look down upon such documentation, but in reality this is how a language flows.
