Tuticorin is a port town as well as a district in Tamil Nadu. It is also called as Pearl City. Many famous personalities like Subramanyam Bharati, V. O. Chidambaram, have belonged to Tuticorin. It is also famous for cultivation and export of a special variety of herbs called senna.
