Andrew Szanton is a memoir collaborator who has assisted with their memoirs Nobel Laureate Eugene Wigner; NAACP Man of the Year Charles Evers; U.S. Senator Edward Brooke and founding director George Pake of Xerox PARC.

After taking a degree in American History at Princeton University in 1985, he began work with the Smithsonian on an oral history program interviewing surviving participants in the Manhattan Project -- the building of the world's first atomic bomb.

This oral history project led to his first memoir collaboration, with the Nobel laureate in physics, Eugene Wigner, of Princeton, New Jersey, an important member of the Manhattan Project.

He followed that memoir with a memoir collaboration with the civil rights leader Charles Evers, of Mississippi. That memoir is called "Have No Fear" and describes how Evers ran the NAACP in Mississippi, and managed to get elected mayor of the formerly white-run town of Fayette, Mississippi.

Szanton has written the Humphrey Bogart profile for Wikipedia.

He helped George Pake, of Palo Alto and Tucson, with a memoir describing his years as founding director of the seminal research firm Xerox PARC.

Other memoir clients he has assisted include: John Whitehead, former co-chairman of Goldman Sachs investment bank in New York City; Peter Raven, celebrated director of the Missouri Botanical Garden; Charles Epps, a distinguished surgeon in Washington, D.C.; and Marvin Gilmore, a prominent developer, banker and civil rights activist in Boston.

Andrew Szanton is also a veteran freelance editor and writing instructor.

In memoir collaboration, he works by assembling a narrative, usually chronological, and then by focusing on three key issues: character, setting and motive.
