Untitled[edit]

Damn. And here I am, having thought Sandy Petersen was a woman for the past ten years. I always thought it was rather cool that a woman worked in this genre (which seems to be rather male-dominated), especially on a project like DOOM (which seems to be even more so). Ah well. -- Schnee 03:12, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

This should be the first sentence, he is male game designer.--141.24.71.7 (talk) 09:05, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dragon magazine[edit]

He wrote a game review column for dragon magazine for a while. (In fact, I remember that he quit when he went to work for id.) But I don't know the years. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.163.229.178 (talk) 20:29, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Runequest[edit]

Sandy was definitely involved with Runequest but was not listed as an author. He is listed as an editor for Runequest III[1]. He is a co-author of several Runequest addons such as Griffin Island (Griffin Island, c.1986 Chaosium). --Pr0f3550r (talk) 03:59, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Prejudice[edit]

Claim:

Petersen is a Mormon, but his religion has not prevented him from designing games involving Satanic elements.

According to my private experience, a lot of Mormons and (other?) Christians deal with Fantasy, imagining demonic and other sinister forces. This is normal, not exceptional, and most religious denominations have enough tolerant cultures to allow this. Rursus dixit. (mbork3!) 12:14, 27 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Being an active Mormon myself, I was a little surprised to see this phrased in this manner as well. I'll look at reworking it. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 15:17, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, took a stab at it. If you can think of a better way to phrase it and keep the quote, please do. — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 15:26, 10 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is Sandy's work at Id Software removed from this article?[edit]

He created 2/3s of the the original Doom levels (Episode 2 & Episode 3). Some levels were originally started by Tom Hall and finished by Sandy. He also created a number levels for Doom 2. Such a large contribution to such an iconic game should be included on his Wiki page. 68.194.25.15 (talk) 05:42, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
