ArmageddonMUD, or sometimes just Armageddon, is an online role-playing MUD, originally based on the DikuMUD code. Armageddon was officially announced July 4, 1992, originally born as a Hack-n-Slash MUD. Over the years, it has developed into one of the only MUDs that enforce role-playing.
Zalanthas[edit]
Armageddon is set in Zalanthas, a harsh desert planet inspired primarily by the Dark Sun Dungeons and Dragons campaign, and Frank Herbert's Dune novels. Only the fittest survive Zalanthas' hardship, and competition over scarce resources causes constant struggle and bloodshed. Zalanthas' red sun raises temperatures up to 150 degrees Fahreinheit during the day, and as low as 60 at night.
