Please, PLEASE, stop making SO MANY minor edits to such an often-edited page as the Village pump and causing edit conflicts... it's amazingly irritating.

If you want to experiment with the way your signature looks, go do it in the Wikipedia:Sandbox, I beg of you. :) --Dante Alighieri | Talk 17:49, Apr 22, 2004 (UTC)

Message deleted a long time ago[edit]

This message was deleted during an experiment from my earlier days on wikipedia. However, I feel bad about having deleted another user's comment. So, here it is, once again allowed to exist on my talk page.--YanA 08:32, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy, welcome to Wikiepdia. I see you've already started on HMS Serapis (it's nice to see a new user who's so comfortable with wikimarkup so early - did you contribute anonymously first?). Anyway, incase you didn't find them already, here's some handy "getting started" links:

If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!

Also, you probably want to take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships, which is the "standard" (such as it is) for ship articles, and which will hook you up with other shipping fans (or lonely sad weirdos as the rest of us call them). TTFN. -- Finlay McWalter 02:07, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

I see that the Flamborough Head article refers to a (currently non-existent) Battle of Flamborough Head, which I assume to be the same thing as you're talking about in HMS Serapis. I figure we should either make the battle page a Redirect to Serapis, or move the battley parts to the battle page from Serapis, with links from there back to both Flamborough Head and HMS Serapis. What do you think? -- Finlay McWalter 03:19, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

...and if you want to get credit (or take blame) for the edits you did as an anon, you can do so at the Changing attribution for an edit page. -- Finlay McWalter 03:22, 26 Jan 2004 (UTC)

Battleships[edit]

Hi: I am currently writing a series of articles about Victorian battleships, and have arrived at the Devastation class. Would you mind if I re-worked your work? I know I don't have to ask, but I like to.--Anthony.bradbury 19:53, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Burrowing Owl Featured Picture Nomination[edit]

Thank you very much. I have four versions that I am looking at and have asked a friend to help me perhaps edit one that is a little lighter and reduce the shadowing as well as enhance the contrast a bit. He was a willing subject, shot at an indoor aviary, so he was used to have his/her picture taken. Much appreciated!--MONGO 21:12, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded another image which has some adjustments if you want to choose. The second one is sort of a temporary one just uploaded to Wikipedia, not commons. Thanks again!--MONGO 04:54, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
