Genre[edit]

I have got in to trouble for altering the article's genre from noise pop and art rock – Sputnikmusic's review lists the album as "noise pop", but I think it is ill-advised to go with what this one reviewer thinks and ignore the fact that "noise pop" does not appear on any other major Sonic Youth article and is not their established style. The genres I changed it to – noise rock, alternative rock and experimental rock clearly are. Lachlan Foley (talk) 01:38, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unwarranted genre removal[edit]

In response to this, 00090R, all of the genres are verified within the article, specifically the Music and lyrics & Critical reception sections: "According to Sputnikmusic's Adam Downer, Sister deviated from the frenetic sound of Sonic Youth's previous music in favor of a refined style of noise pop that would typify the band's subsequent work" ... "one of the singular art rock records of the '80s" ... "the last great punk album of the Reagan era" ... "Sister exemplifies everything great about post-punk music" Citing these genres again in the infobox is redundant (WP:INFOBOXREF). Dan56 (talk) 23:53, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
