Interview[edit]

There's a long interview in the Mirror newspaper here (saved here for later use) --Phil | Talk 10:22, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)

Change the title?[edit]

He's only creditted as Anthony Stewart Head when he appears in American series. I think it would be better to take out "Stewart" as he is most often creditted as just Anthony Head.

  • I agree.
  • I was just coming here to propose just that. I think I will. Zythe 22:28, 12 June 2006 (UTC) On second thoughts, it looks better than "Anthony Head (actor)".[reply]
  • He isn't a fighting game character (all those pages are wrong as well). The Stewart is only used on the Buffy credits and seeing as it says 'more commonly known as Anthony Head' that's what this page should be renamed to.--Mr.bonus 17:20, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Well the Viscount is Antony Head, without the 'h', where the actor is Anthony, with the 'h'. So Anthony Head should be the title of this article with a link at the top leading to the viscount.--NeilEvans 20:57, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • What's wrong with that? Isn't that what dab links at the top of an article are for?PC78 18:14, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
*In the UK, he's always credited as Anthony Head. Seeing as he is English, and he was famous here before Buffy, he should be listed as that name, in my opinion 80.7.186.169 (talk) 00:20, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move[edit]

The result of the debate was Move. Duja 09:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Stewart HeadAnthony Head — Request by user 81.145.241.220: The actor is more often credited as the latter than the former. The disamb at Anthony Head should be removed and a line placed in the actor page, stating that there is also a dead Viscount by the same name. PC78 21:37, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Add  # '''Support'''  or  # '''Oppose'''  on a new line in the appropriate section followed by a brief explanation, then sign your opinion using ~~~~.

Survey - Support votes[edit]

  1. Support move to Anthony Head since this is the name used on the actor's official website. The dab page can be moved if necessary, but is there really any need to have a dab page for two similar but non-identical names? A top link on each article should be sufficient. PC78 21:41, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  2. Support as above.--NeilEvans 22:22, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  3. Support - as above, official site etc. -- Beardo 06:14, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Survey - Oppose votes[edit]

  • Oppose He is most noted for his role in Buffy and he was always creditted as Anthony stewart head. 205.157.110.11 00:02, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Comment, his acting career covers almost 30 years and is hardly defined by his role on Buffy. PC78 09:39, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Dude, show his picture on the street and what do you think the average Joe will remember him for? Buffy? Most likely. Maybe the Taster's Choice commercials but his name wasn't creditted then. 205.157.110.11 03:58, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
        • Perhaps in America, but he's British and a far more polific actor than what you seem to think. PC78 04:17, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
          • I know that they get Buffy in the UK and there are quite a few Buffy fans there as well as worldwide syndication. It is undoubtly his most notable acheivement and the only work of his that will come anywhere close to passing the 100 year test. It is what he is most recognized for and it his billing is his most recognizable one. 205.157.110.11 04:53, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
        • The popularity of Buffy is not in the issue, but you can't possibly say with any degree of certainty what will or won't be remembered 100 years from now. Buffy is merely one of his acting credits in a 30-or-so year long carreer, and one of the few where he is credited as Anthony Stewart Head. PC78 17:04, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
          • Alec Guiness was a pretty prolific and accomplished actor but he will be most notably known as Obi wan Kenobi. Sometimes a role is so notable, it defines an actor in the public sphere. For Anthony Stewart Head, it will be his role in Buffy. 205.157.110.11 07:39, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Add any additional comments:
Comment To say he is most noted for Buufy is wrong, maybe in america he is. But in the UK, I don't think he has ever been credited as Anthony Stewart Head. Also if you go to his bio page on imdb.com his name is goven as Anthony Head and then it says he is occasionally credited as Anthony Stewart Head.--NeilEvans 00:36, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

treu horror[edit]

how come hteres totally nothing about his program 'treu horror', or 'the truth behind horror' or whatever it was called that he showed for a while? i know it discontinued rather quickly but it still deserves a mention. there piece about zombies was rather shocking and intreging.--Lygophile 00:58, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Musician[edit]

Is it appropiate for Head to be labeled as 'musician'? According to the Singles section he has only ever released one single. If this is the case, would classifying him as a musician not be a little too narrow?—♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 09:03, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He has also released an album with George Sarah called 'Music for Elevators'. Muncher666 23:51 13 August 2007

Coffee[edit]

In the UK he's well known for his role in a series of nescafe adds from the 80s as mentioned in the article, He was well know for this before the buffy and little britain so i think it should be mentioned in the opening paragraph.(Morcus (talk) 23:17, 17 May 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Right hand?[edit]

Why does he always keep his right hand out of sight? AuntFlo (talk) 12:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Because it is deformed.--95.147.97.245 (talk) 03:14, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Change from 'Tony Head' to 'Anthony Head'[edit]

I've checked IMDB, and nowhere on Anthony Head's page is he credited as 'Tony Head'.
There is a seperately listed 'Tony Head', but he's a totally different actor.
Anthony Stewart Head (the guy this article is about): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0372117/
Tony Head (not the guy): http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1179565/
I hope that rectifies any confusion Giovnni (talk) 09:11, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For that matter, the claim that he is usually credited as Anthony Head seems to me untrue - he's been Anthony Stewart Head in Buffy, Repo, and all Doctor Who-related roles, which are among his biggest roles. Phil Sandifer (talk) 15:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Six degrees[edit]

He was interviewed in the Metro for his appearance in the play Six Degrees and in searching for the article online I found a few other interviews with him that might be useful as sources. They all mention his early fame for the Nescafe adverts, supporting claims made above.

  • "60 SECONDS: Anthony Head". {{cite news}}: Text "http://www.metro.co.uk/showbiz/interviews/16905-60-seconds-anthony-head" ignored (help)
  • "60 SECONDS EXTRA!: Anthony Head".
  • "Anthony Head unravels the social network".

This article oddly mentions his family life twice under both Early life and Career but in neither case does it actually link to his daughter Emily. In the Metro article he mentions acting with her in the Invisibles and her role in the Inbetweeners. -- Horkana (talk) 12:31, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of comment on right hand[edit]

Hi all,

I've removed the bit about Head's right hand per Wikipedia's policy on biographies of living persons. Although there's some other unsourced items in this article, claiming someone has a deformity is potentially contentious enough to warrant removal in the absence of a reliable source. Please do not add this back in without a proper citation. --jonny-mt 04:23, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change status as "pescetarian" to "ovopescolactarian"[edit]

I tweeted Mr. Head to ask him about this bit of information (are you a pescetarian?), and he answered back that he's an "ovopescolactarian". I'm suggesting the page be edited to reflect this. See image of twitter convo here, or check his twitter posts for October 22, 2012, or check my twitter post for the same day. 99.252.96.170 (talk) 21:34, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Peggy <ref>twitter convo October 22, 2012</ref>[reply]

Please note this badly written trivia was deleted. -- 109.77.196.141 (talk) 13:15, 9 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
