Re the sequence of dukes of Burgundy: Philip II "The Bold", Jean "The Fearless", Philip III "The Good" and Charles "Le Hardi", I rather think that the nicknames of Philip II and Charles are the wrong way round. The correct sequence is Philip "Le Hardi" (the bold), Jean "Sans Peur" (the fearless), Philip "Le Bon" (the good) and Charles "Le Téméraire" (the rash). This confusion sometimes arises because in English "hardi" and "téméraire" can both be translated as "bold". Philip II was originally nicknamed "le hardi" in the sense of "cheeky, cocky". Charles was named "le téméraire" in the admiring sense of "brave, bold", but post mortem and in retrospect "rash" is more fitting, which is usually how he is called in English.

There is an error in this family tree. Joanna (1293-1348), daughter of Robert II, Duke of Burgundy, married (1313) Philip VI, King of France. Joanna, Countess of Burgundy, married (1307) Philip V, King of France, and their daughter, Joanna (1308-1347; Countess of Burgundy after her mother's death in 1329), married (1318) Eudes IV. In addition, "La Marche" is misspelled as "La Merche" under Hugh XIII.

The Willa who married Hugh of Vienne (Arles) was not the sister of Hugh "the Black" of Burgundy, but of King (and Emperor) Louis "the Blind" of Provence; both she and Louis were the children of Boso of Provence and his Carolingian wife, Ermengard. SGilsdorf 20:19, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More errors: The sons of Hugh Capet were Otto and Odo(Eudes)-Henry, not Odo and Otto Henry. Otto William was not son of Odo Henry, but step-son, the son of Adelbert, King of Italy, whose widow married Odo Henry. The wife of Henry of Burgundy, son of Robert I, is entirely unknown. That she was Sybilla was a mistake in interpreting a reference to one of her daughters-in-law. That she is of Barcelona is nothing but a guess. Agricolae (talk) 01:28, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
