Hello Nightfall, and welcome to Wikipedia! I notice you uploaded this photo of the band Cannibal Corpse. Where did it come from? Unless you took the photo yourself (or otherwise hold the copyright), or the copyright holder has released it under the GNU Free Documentation License, Wikipedia cannot make use of it. - I don't know about the copyright. I took the picture from a CC fanpage (www.cannibalcorpse1.com, I think it doesn't exist anymore, at least I couldn't load it when I tried to access it a few minutes ago) If you think there's a problem with the copyright I'll remove it of course, as much as I'd dislike doing that... -- Nightfall
Yes, I'm afraid it'll have to go. It's annoying, but we have to be somewhat careful about copyrights. We want to have a resource that people can redistribute and modify without getting into legal messes. For recent photos, the unfortunate rule of thumb is this: unless the photographer has explictly released the picture under the GFDL or into the public domain, we can't use it. There are some exceptions, though. For example, User:Isis, a lawyer with intellectual property experience, assures us that we can use scans of CD, book and movie covers in articles about those subjects (but she'll kill me if I don't mention this: her opinion is not professional legal advice).

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Still_life_cover.jpg)[edit]
Thanks for uploading Image:Still_life_cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Fair use rationale for Image:Obituary cause of death.jpg[edit]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Obituary cause of death.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
