Untitled[edit]

I removed the NPOV tag from the article because no discussion had been brought here (as the NPOV tag itself specifies should happen) to explain the reasoning behind it. Furthermore, since the only edit to this article in 7 months had been the placement of the tag itself, it doesn't seem like its neutrality is being disputed very much. To allay the concern raised in the edit summary for the placement of the NPOV tag—that it spoke of God acting—I added the qualification that this is from the Biblical account, even though God's reaction is already provided with an inline citation from the Old Testament. If someone still has neutrality concerns over the article, I ask that they please elucidate them here when placing the NPOV tag. Binabik80 03:43, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)

There are still a few little phrases that would raise questions about neutrality in my mind. (For instance "and all too successfully" in the third paragraph.)

"banish the worship of Yahweh out of the land"[edit]

That Manasseh tried to do this is doubtful, as Yahweh was considered the supreme and national god even in the pagan version of Judean religion (as attested on the inscriptions of Kuntillet 'Ajrud, Khirbet el-Qom, and Bet-Lei). Easton's material is good for reference, but should not be included verbatim; this particular article betrays a gross misunderstanding of the context of Judean paganism.--Rob117 02:16, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Date Inconsistencies"[edit]

I'm confused by how the two reigning periods given both fall about 10 years short of the stated length of his reign -- 55 years. If the reign lasted 55 years, how were these dates arrived at?

Reference to Zephaniah??[edit]

Why does the text of the article use the first verse in Zephaniah as support that Menashe was son of Hezekiah and Hefzibah when THAT source does nothing to prove that but it IS explicitly stated in the last verse of Kings 20 and the first verse in Kings 21?? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1017:B81B:B15C:A913:901A:7AFF:5F99 (talk) 00:10, 14 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
