There can be only so much volume in the namespace. I don't want to have to trawl through a gigantic disambiguation page for, say, Paul Simon, when I want the politician, not the musician, not the dog of the guy who lives next door, not somebody's imaginary friend...you get the idea? There's a reason why What Wikipedia is not exists. As for sensible URLs, that has been suggested before, but is technically unfeasible because other, hidden, pages and directories exist on the site. Creating the redirect system would break them. Johnleemk | Talk 08:37, 14 Sep 2004 (UTC)

The disambig page could be easily sorted or set up so that the absurd things are out of sight for most users. And the redirects could easily be turned off for the used directories. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 171.64.200.110 (talk) 00:09, 10 February 2005 (UTC)[reply]
