Addendum: One might argue for a redirect to Lepomis, the common sunfishes, but there are many other species in other Centrarchidae genera called "sunfish". —Tkinias 03:51, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Not a big deal, but it would have been perfectly fine at "sunfish". There's no reason to retreat into Latin if specialists agree on an English name for a family; random vernacular uses can be mentioned in a paragraph at the end. Fish people have been making an effort to come up with English names matching up identically with families, to the extent of renaming many species so that the general names are available. Just as taxoboxes reflect latest rather than historical classification, we can make our article titles up-to-date. Stan 05:54, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
