I think that common usage should dictate the use of the WLUSU acronym. In regular discussion, the union is referred to as "WLUSU" and not "the WLUSU". For example, one would say "WLUSU just eliminated its volunteer fees for Orientation Week" and not "the WLUSU [et cetera]". It's fallacious to impose grammatical conventions on an acronym that has such widespread common usage.

Wilfrid Laurier University Student Publications[edit]

Perhaps those who mis-construed my previous edits as vandalism would like to discuss the inclusion of Wilfrid Laurier University Student Publications (WLUSP) in this article here. This organization (WLUSP) has no place in this article. It is a completely separate organization, that has no affiliation with WLUSU, the topic of the article. I would suggest two solutions. Either:

  (a) Change the name of this article to "Student Organizations at Wilfrid Laurier University", or;
  (b) Include WLUSP in The Cord Weekly article

I also note that in the AfD discussion, a consensus was not reached to merge this with the WLUSU article. A contributor (quite rightly) suggested that it would be more appropriate to merge it into The Cord Weekly article. I'm going to go ahead and Be Bold and merge it with the The Cord Weekly article. 70.53.108.228 (talk) 03:42, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
