Good job, might want to add Ray Materick, and Paul Dean. Also worth considering the members of Steel River.  ;-) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.231.68.197 (talk) 04:33, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

diversity[edit]

There needs to be a reflective diversity on this list.

Removing redlinks[edit]

Hi, I've removed a bunch of names from the list, basically because they didn't link to an article. These lists are only any use if they are for navigating the encyclopaedia -- and even then, categories are much, much better -- and if they're not carefully watched, they just turn into dumping grounds for names, sometimes of real bands or whatever, but often just of schoolkids who want to see their name on the wiki. So please don't re-add your (favourite) band unless there's an article about it somewhere in here. James James 06:46, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bye Norah[edit]

I would love it if Norah Jones was Canadian, but I've seen nothing to say that she is. Born in New York City. MLittle

Daisy Debolt[edit]

A legend for many Canadians - but not on the list Daisy Debolt

see: http://daisydebolt.com/pals.htm

Was once the half of Fraser and Debolt ('70's folk)

I have now learned that Daisy died Oct 4, 2011.

I trust she was listed on the page prior to her passing. G. Robert Shiplett 23:24, 21 December 2011 (UTC)

Can't be listed on this page until she has a Wikipedia article to link to — which requires someone to actually write one. Bearcat (talk) 03:01, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Artist[edit]

How do I get an artist on here. He was pivotal of the Ottawa music scene in the mid 1950s. Every member of Five Man Electrical Band played with him prior to them forming The Staccatos. Wayne Latendresse whose stage name was Wayne Tender, was very well known at the time.

He started to have a huge fan base not only in Ottawa but, also Pennsylvania and eastern United States. He would fill any venue even on a Wednesday afternoon. Talk with musicians of the time like Gary Comeau, Les Emmerson (Wayne actually taught him by climbing into Les' window at night). Wayne Tender died in his car on March 12, 1971 on way home in the wee hours after playing that night. Band names were The Parkways, Wayne Tender and the Playboys, Wayne Tender Trio, Wayne Tender Duo and Wayne Tender. He has been asked to step in when a band member couldn't make it, for example The Hi-Tones. He is in Jim Hurcomb's book "Rockin' On The Rideau; Ottawa's Golden Age Of Rock And Roll". His Facebook is facebook.com/waynetenderlatendresse.

Please email me at gary@latendressefamily.com for more information.

Thanks, Gary Latendresse FiveManRoadie (talk) 12:18, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@FiveManRoadie: Links in this list must lead to existing articles. If Wayne Tender meets Wikipedia's notability criteria (see WP:MUSICBIO), you could create an article about him, preferably as a draft (see WP:DRAFT). — Chrisahn (talk) 17:56, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
