The Russian version of this page translates Rad as a sun light. Russian word "Raduga" (rainbow) means a sun arc or a sun's semi-circle. Russsian word "Radost" (hapiness) means given by sun rays(light). In Ukrainian, literally, it means "happy to have a guest/happy to be a host".--Grigoryev 07:05, 12 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
