A source I have at home gives his death as August 30. Does anyone know which is correct? Danny 14:32, 24 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Excommunication of King William[edit]

Kingdom of Spain[edit]

The article claims that the Pope had the support of "the kingdoms of Portugal, Sicily and Spain". There was not such thing as the "kingdom of Spain" in the late 12th century. Is it a reference to the Kingdom of Leon? The kingdom of Castille perhaps? Both? Resistance by the finns[edit]

"In 1171, Alexander became the first pope to address the situation of the Church in Finland, with Finns allegedly harassing priests and only relying on God in time of war."

I would like to change "allegedly" to "reportedly". There can be no valid reason for weasel words here. I don't think there is any doubt the finns resisted conversion, clarified by the fact that the article specifies that he later authorized conversions on pain of death in the nordics. -- Cimon Avaro; on a pogostick.
