The United Workers Party - leninist?[edit]

I think its a misunderstanding that the United Workers Party (UWP)was Leninist. In his obit for Mattick, Michael Buckmiller writes that the UWP was *a split from* the Leninist Proletarian Party.

Also in its manifesto "World-wide Fascism or Revolution" the UWP declared: "'Back to Lenin' is in reality a meaningless, stupid phrase. A distinction between Leninism and Stalinism is not possible, as the latter is but the outcome of the former. [...] The question today has become Bolshevism or Communism." (p. 20)

Furthermore, Buckmiller writes that Mattick was not only trying to influence the UWP, but in fact part of it. Which makes perfect sense, as the UWP was featured on the frontpage of the International Council Correspondence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.92.94.145 (talk) 16:26, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright[edit]

What is the copyright status of this work? It has been copied from here which has no indication. I do see the same material is in the Marxist Encyclopedia which says its content is GFDL, but also notes this entry is copied from the first source. So, is this GFDL or not? If it is GFDL, its source and a note to that effect should be made in the article. -- Hadal 08:49, 4 Jun 2004 (UTC)

This piece dosen't focus on Matticks status as one of the foremost figures in marxian economics and his relation to Henryk Grossman and others. Even if Matticks contribution to the left communist and council communist movement where significant and very much worth mentioning, it is his achivement as an economist that constitutes his reputation. The article feels to much as a general biography. Sriwi.

Well - I wrote this text on the 'Kurasje - Council Communist Archieve' many years ago and I am very happy to see it reproduced, corrected and spread through the Wikipedia. I have noticed that despite of all the editing the main text has not been changed substantially - thank you very much. I have also noticed that someone has made a German version out of it too. That is really good and I plan to copy that back into the site. However I should warn against believing everything in this version. I made a couple of errors, which are obvious to the 'insiders'. And so I am planning for a revision to a second version with corrections and supplements. As to Sriwi's comment: It might be that I should stress Matticks achivements - not as 'an economist', but - as a 'critical marxist theoretian' some more. But what is wrong with 'a general biography' ? - 4.12. 2007 - j. - www.kurasje.org

I have just noticed that someone has inserted some sub-headings into this text deviding it into various sections. I don't like this since it seems rather formalistic and not in line with the flow of the original text. It actually changes the appearrence of the text against its original. If it had to be sub-sectioned I would rewrite the whole thing and give it some others more relevant headings. But never mind. I don't want to start a war on this. - 12. 6. 2008 - j. - www.kurasje.org —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.88.210.132 (talk) 21:43, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
