High School[edit]

If creating an article about your old high school is such a bad idea then why is there a category for High Schools? —The preceding comment was added by Kenallen (talkcontribs) .

It's a joke (like the whole page). It links to Randolph School, which is the school of the founder of Wikipedia, who said people who make articles about their own high schools, should be free to do so, and such articles should be tolerated. When he said that, he named Randolph School as an arbitrary example. --Rob 23:13, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have to agree. The article definitely made me lol, but the high school part interupts the flow.Patstuart(talk)(contribs) 06:00, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article is intended to promote somones cats.[edit]

"Creating or editing an article just to show off a picture of a cute cat is always a terrible idea. Besides, there's always someone somewhere who thinks their cat is cuter."
This is the prime quotation of this ARTICLE. There is a total of 3 cats in this article. It appears that this article was created just for showing these cats! This article does not fit the nonbiased format of Wikipedia.[edit]

While some of the claims on this page may be true, this page itself does not follow the format set forth by just about every other article on Wikipedia and should be deleted for this reason. Instead it should be supplanted by a non-satirical How To on creating Wikipedia pages, and the guidelines for thus. In other words, keep this site professional, and keep Uncyclopedia articles on Uncyclopedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.221.140.211 (talk) 09:08, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Too long title[edit]

This is a funny title, but it is too long. Should we either move this page to a shorter title or shrink the title using {{DISPLAYTITLE}}? UpsandDowns1234 (Talk to me) (My Contribs) 06:41, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No. As the disclaimer at the top says "This page is intended as humour", so a silly title fits it perfectly. Yintan  07:36, 13 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No articles for individual songs?[edit]

I know this is a humor page, but why is this there? There are probably thousands of articles about individual songs. Is this something Wikipedia is no longer considering notable for the most part? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yojunemeow (talkcontribs) 17:51, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

In its earliest version, this page singled out one artist not to make song articles for. Some time after that, the page was changed to not making an article for a bubblegum pop song. Around 2010, as part of a large edit whose summary included "putting back the humour", it was made about individual songs generally. Yes, it makes no sense. We have lots of articles about individual songs, and it would not improve the encyclopedia to get rid of all of them. Vadder (talk) 20:01, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Links[edit]

“esoteric programming language” should link to Esoteric programming language

“noteworthy exception” should link to Atheism

191.254.112.81 (talk) 21:53, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Half done linked Atheism to 'this rule' since it makes more contextual sense. Added 59: "to 'test the boundaries of computer programming language design'." This preserves the original Java joke, while adding a sentence from the Esoteric programming language article that sounds humorous when said sarcastically or without context. Hecseur (talk) 06:09, 4 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This is a humorous article, and I get it that humor is sometimes irreverent, but I just don't think a sweeping dismissal of the sincere faith of billions is particularly funny. Rnickel (talk) 14:09, 19 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reverse order of notices & removal of "Bug off"[edit]

I think it might be a good idea to put the purple humor warning sign first on the page, because I've seen it most commonly appear as the first thing on a humorous article.

Also, the tone of the other notice was a bit unclear to me. At first, it tries to be helpful and neutral, and suggests a redirect to an actually useful article, but then it tells me to "bug off"? I thought I could trust that notice, I thought it was useful for me, but it kind of hurt my feelings at the end (and could be confusing for other people). I suggest removing the last sentence: "Now please, bug off, we've got more important things to be on about". Ciderpoem (talk) 19:36, 16 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
