Non-official servers[edit]

The Project 1999 EverQuest servers are popular emulated servers that are a heavily modified version of EverQuest in the state it existed in the year it launched and the two subsequent expansions. Due to being customised heavily by its owners, many changes have been made that make the servers nothing like the live experience of its time. These include First to Engage messages, Rooted dragons, so called bag limits (top guild can only kill certain mobs so many times or be raid banned) and other changes that were unheard of in the expansions time frame, and have been attributed to driving players away, as the 'Baby sitting mode servers' are not considered a true EverQuest experience.

If the 1999 Project has adequate notability, it can have its own article, with a See Also here. If you add the advertisement back in, I will, of course, remove it.
WP cannot assess accuracy or truth.
Please focus on content, not on beating other editors into submission. You may want to pursue a wp:RFS if you don't agree with the consensus.
I could add the daily exploits of the various NPCs in old West Karana in the magnificent WK sunsets... and it would be accurate, true, informative... and promptly deleted.

I see "Non-official servers - The Project 1999 EverQuest servers are very popular emulated servers that closely recreate EverQuest in the state it existed in the year it launched and the two subsequent expansions. Referred to as the “Classic Trilogy”."
How is this not adequate? Again, if they merit an article, create it. Link it here. But I am doubtful.Shajure (talk) 05:47, 26 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Further, I see the "sources" you listed are all archived. In the past year, there is no press mention at all. I am dubious that the amount of coverage in the EQ article is wp:advertising... wp:undue coverage.Shajure (talk) 05:00, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Removed the hype... and I'll remove it promptly if the advertising is restored. I put the 2 groups of current servers together in a single sentence, with a neutral point of view.Shajure (talk) 05:06, 27 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
