Mira Costa High School[edit]

It breaks my heart to list this place. My best friend since kindergarten as well as his brothers and sister graduated from MCHS. His father taught math and science there for goodness knows how many years. His mom did some teaching there as well as I recall. Beyond the fact that Shaquille O'Neill used the gym to practice free throws before he moved to Miami, this article says nothing about an otherwise ordinary high school...including the fact about Shaq. Personally, I'd love to see this expanded but if not, delete for lack of content and/or notability. - Lucky 6.9 16:27, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete, unless enormously improved before expiration of VfD. Notability not established, BEEFSTEW (my measure of article quality) score 0/10. [[User:Dpbsmith|Dpbsmith (talk)]] 16:34, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Just another wonderful high school of which so many people have memories almost like the memories other people have of thousands of other wonderful high schools. Jallan 17:42, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Does this school stand out from the crowd? I see no evidence in the article. Average Earthman 17:58, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. Maybe if there were a lot more information it would seem more notably important--ScottyBoy900Q 00:08, 01 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. I don't care if it's a wonderful high school as long as it's not notable. (If it were a wonderful school that were somehow notable, or for that matter a really mediocre school that were somehow notable, that would be a different story.) • Keep. I'm the user who added the page. I graduated from MCHS in 1987, and I was planning to expand the article tomorrow after I verify a few facts; I put a few thoughts on possible topics for expansion onto the article's talk page. However, I won't be offended if the group decides otherwise. slambo 02:56, 1 Oct 2004 (UTC) - I've added more content to it; I've got more about the school's sports programs but haven't had a chance to put it together yet. Please review the page again. Thanks. slambo 00:16, 2 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete. Compare with Torrance High School and Fremont High School (Sunnyvale). Anyone famous graduate there? Was it used in a movie or television series? Anything that it was first in California to accomplish? Any unique or noteworthy architectural styles in the buildings? Any famous faculty/administrators? Was it the site of groundbreaking educational innovations or educational history? If so, the contributor (slambo) needs to step up to the plate and put this material in, with references/sources to save the article. If not, not notable. (I say this in the kindest way I know how. . . really I do) --avnative 17:02, Oct 1, 2004 (UTC)
