check valve

I was in Afghanistan for a while and I had the opportunity to work with some of your employees in the plumbing field. Localisation Issues

This looks like a very USian page, particularly with respect to pipe sizes being in inches. Can anyone extend this to cover European standards, if anything is known about them? I agree. The UK is half way between the US and Europe in plumbing having a mixture of imperial and metric sizes. 22mm roughly 3/4" and 15mm roughly 1/2" metric to imperial olives bridge the slight discrepency. Compliance/Regulation/etc

ok so I added a bit of what I've found (still searching and hopefully i'll remember to plug that info back in once i'm done)... in terms of regulation and region/Localization specific data, I would much rather prefer to see seperate articles for the various regions... and perhaps a more general "you're ok if you follow these" (granted a subset of all regulations, but it'd perhaps be an easy source for the lay-man who would be more likely to use wikipedia instead of a plumber who might have the plumbing code books for their regions. Ideally it'd also include a bunch of references (links/etc) to non-wiki sites, to help maintain accuracy.

Historical Considerations

I think it would be good to add a section here on the history of indoor plumbing. I mean, who was the first to pump water into their homes? I believe that the Romans did it, but I'm not sure they were the first. Spacelord 22:50, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup Required

I have removed the merge proposal on this page, as the proposed merge page, plumbing drainage venting is more generally applicable than to just the domestic water system. However, this article still requires major work -- the intro is too long and not sufficiently wikilinked, and the text needs more structure. Title Source?

I have been a water professional in the United States for over 30 years and have never heard the acronym DWS or the phrase Domestic Water System. Could someone please let us know where it comes from?
The word for used water (aka sewage) is "wastewater", not "waste water". Stylebook issue

Water storage tank health

Hello, I've never contributed to Wikipedia before so not sure how to go about this. I have read the Wikipedia Domestic Water System write up and would like to contribute a section giving guidance on keeping the stored water in a domestic property healthy and thus avoiding legionella and other bacterial growth. I am the director of a UK company that specialises in cleaning and sterilising domestic water tanks and systems. My contribution would include UK health and safety information pertaining to the obligations of landlords of domestic rental properties. So my question is, do I submit this to someone or do I just type it in. And can I include a link to our website which contains a lot of information.

Clean up "complete"

I've just 'finished' cleaning up the plumbing articles that I've found ... so far. Plumber and others feed to Plumbing which then feeds to this and related articles. So this article is for water supply, and water drains and vents are addressed in oddly titled Plumbing drainage venting.
