Allegations: This user is systematically destroying all references to "Great Britain". In some cases he is correct to make the change but in others he is not but has not been listening to the requests of various users to be more careful in his approach to this excercise. It is true that the use of "Great Britain" is technically incorrect for the current state of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is wholly correct when refering to the Kingdom of Great Britain (1707-1801) and the geographical entity that is the island of Great Britain. However the use of "Great Britain" has for many years been a convenient synonym for the UK as is evidenced by the Great Britain Olympic team and other institutions which use Great Britain in their name rather than UK. Bobblewik has been correcting links and references to GB to UK. In many cases this is pure pedantry and is akin to someone chaging references to "American ..." to "United States ...", but has now moved on to systematically changing references to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1801-1922) to point to the UK article. I feel his next move will be to "correct" references to the Kingdom of Great Britain. A move too far. Mintguy (T) 01:00, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

This user has also been upsetting other users by insisting on replacing hectares with km2 and cc with cm3. Mintguy (T) 10:11, 31 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I just noticed that he changed an unlinked instance of corn to maize in an article about Kentucky. I have also had to revert some of his changes to Great Britain's where he directed the term in pre-1800s articles to the United Kingdom but that was months ago. Rmhermen 17:14, Aug 10, 2004 (UTC)
