First episode[edit]

Wow! The first episode was wonderful! I really liked the "behind the scenes" stuff of the defense attorney practicing her opening on a group of "jurors" who rate how they feel about what she's saying and the coaching of the witness by the prosecuter! Really interesting stuff! So does this sort of stuff really take place? Or is it like CSI where they "can" do it but in reality don't.

Yes, what you saw was a jury consultant conducting a mock trial. They are most often found in high dollar civil suits. (because they are very expensive.) Some high profile criminal defense attorneys will use them for their clients as well. (although no where near as often as they're used in civil cases.) So far Trial by Jury has been pretty accurate for what they do show you. It's what they don't show you that you're really missing. You don't see that most criminal defendants will plead guilty. You don't see that somewhere around 90% of all criminal defendants don't have private lawyers, they use the public defender. (The guy on tonight 3/18/05 was court-appointed. He sure looked and acted like a public defender, but I'm not sure if he was.) You don't see the prosecution dismissing cases because of problems with witnesses, evidence, and cops. You also don't see the countless times a trial is continued because one side or another isn't ready. But then again, none of that makes for entertaining TV. As a prosecutor myself, I can tell you that the show is pretty good, a little dramatic, but pretty accurate for what you see.

Question[edit]

Can we mention the other various characters from the Law and Order series that made appearances in the series? Zscout370 (Sound Off) 01:02, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

If so, should note that Amy Carlson played a murderous 9/11 widow on the season premier of "Original" L&O from the season before TBJ started. (15?) JD79 01:31, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
She was also on "SVU" as the wife of a police officer who claims she was raped by her husband, yet he is acquitted at trial, and the two are back together. Michael 06:54, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Annie Parisse played a stripper on the mothership before her role last season as ADA Alexandra Borgia.

Another Question[edit]

When will it be back on the air? I never got to see an episode, but I want to. Swordplay227 03:12, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but it was cancelled, as was its successor. Michael 04:24, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It was replaced by Conviction, which also only lasted one season. Michael 23:48, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
CourtTV may eventually reshow it. You never know, they did so once. Also, the series is available on DVD (as is Conviction), in a "Complete Series" set. 4.235.66.116 21:22, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Assistant District Attorney Tracey Kibre - Bebe Neuwirth.jpg[edit]

Image:Assistant District Attorney Tracey Kibre - Bebe Neuwirth.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:37, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for help writing an article about the spin-offs and crossovers of this series[edit]

I am writing an article about all of the series which are in the same shared reality as this one through spin-offs and crossovers. I could use a little help expanding the article since it is currently extremely dense and a bit jumbled with some sentence structures being extremely repetitive. I would like to be able to put this article into article space soon. Any and all help in writing the article would be appreciated, even a comment or two on the talk page would help. Please give it a read through, also please do not comment here since I do not have all of the series on my watch list. - LA @ 17:02, 16 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Casting order[edit]

Does anyone remember the original casting order in the opening credits of the first two episodes (the ones with Jerry Orbach)? I reordered the list because, per Infobox: TV instructions, original cast should be listed first in credits order followed by additional cast in the order they joined the show, but I don't know whether Jerry Orbach was listed before or after Fred Thompson.
