merge proposal

Almost everything in the Tortelvis page is duplicated in the "History" section of Dread Zeppelin. Very tempting I admit. I really want to add stuff to Tortelvis, the current page is not that good, a lot more could be said but I just do not have time. I need to re-read all album leaflets and write my own text. I still consider myself new to Wikipedia so I would want to check guidelines for the task. How about a "wait 1 month and go for it"? List Members ?

A big thanks to Buddachile for adding so much real names behind the various persona. I would love to add a section band members, with perhaps a list of their presence / absence per album. This could be a start with the merge with Tortelvis, and if enough is added with time we could give each members it's page. If Buddachile is reading this, do you have enough information? I rarely stumbled upon the real names, and have no idea who changed names, when and for what reason. For an L.A. area band do we even know why no real credits are in the albums? Please don't make separate pages for the individual members. There's no way to make them pass WP:N or WP:MUSIC, so they are just going to be merged back.—Kww(talk) 22:14, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Led Zeppelin (and others) on DZ

Dubious disputed references??

Are these two references really in dispute? The comment labels them as 'self-published' however reference #6 is from the text of a transcribed article from Kerrang Magazine, currently hosted on a site with numerous other article transcriptions about the group.. and reference #4 seems to be in-depth mostly referenced article written by a published music researcher/enthusiast. Member names inconsistentcy

Not sure what the Wiki guidelines are on this, but the names are presented in an inconsistent fashion in the article. Most times it is done with the stage names first along with actual names in parenthesis. Toward the end of the article this is reversed. I believe it is important to identify the members with both names, but feel this needs to be done consistently. In other articles I am familiar with, after first mention, individuals are then identified by surname. I would say this would be an appropriate way to handle the members in this article also, but which names to use - stage or actual? I lean towards actual as, in my mind, using stage names makes the article sound like something written for a fan magazine, not an encyclopedia. Thoughts?THX1136 (talk) 15:45, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

March 2024 updates

I can't find any evidence of the band doing much if any touring after 2016, so I'm going to update the "2000-present" section accordingly. A show in 2015 and another 2016 appear on Setlist.fm, but I can't seem to find anything at all past 2016. 28bytes (talk) 15:57, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

I snipped this reference that said the band "still tours" because it was just a photo gallery of pictures from a 2009 show: "Dread Zeppelin at House of Blues Sunset Strip". Dreadzeppelin.com. Archived from the original on October 29, 2013. Retrieved July 15, 2011.

I also removed this bit: "produced by Bob Knarley (Howard Ulyate), the son of legendary trombone player Lloyd Ulyate."Lloyd Ulyate Discography at Discogs". Discogs.com. Retrieved July 15, 2011." since the linked discogs page makes no reference to Howard Ulyate. (As an aside, I don't know if there should be a Lloyd Ulyate article, but he does appear on several dozen recordings that have Wikipedia articles.
