Untitled[edit]

The Hamlet connection and the Shakespeare quote that makes the title don't seem very explicitly identified. Wetman 05:50, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

The explosion of the phaser - which Kirk had jettisoned moments before - rocked the entire ship. IIRC, not even the WMD jettisoned by the Romulans caused as much of a shake. -- Tg81182 21:41, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From the article: "Later, Lt. Riley's milk is poisoned, and he would have died if he hadn't been communicating with other crewmembers at the moment of the poison's effect, allowing them to immediately dispatch assistance. "

There is no mention in the script that the beverage is milk. And given that the meal itself consists of colored blocks (explained in other episodes to be equivalent in nutritional value to traditional entrees), it might be a stretch to assume that Riley was drinking such a staple of the 20th century. Should comment be made how DNA identification was not anticipated and thus the plot hinges on a erroneous assumption that even in the far future a burnt body can be "beyond recognition"; and in any case by the mid-60s didn't identification by dental records already exist? Trivia[edit]

Any cites for the following?;

  • Her absence in future episodes is never explained. The creators of the series decided it wasn’t a good idea for Kirk to have a love interest on the ship.
  • Lt. Riley was meant to show that the Enterprise had other regular crew members.
  • "Kodos" is one of the two Trek-named aliens who appear in the halloween episodes of The Simpsons, the other being named after the Klingon character "Kang."

Also, is the costume tag and the jazz theme notable? Alastairward (talk) 09:01, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, watch any Simpson's episode that features Kang and Kodos.... Thedarxide (talk) 09:25, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Doing so will only confirm that there are Simpsons characters named Kodos and Kang. Any cite to link them to the Star Trek characters of the same names? Alastairward (talk) 12:59, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
5 seconds with Google gives http://simpsons.ugo.com/?cur=kang-kodos but you probably want it written in blood from Matt Groening. Thedarxide (talk) 16:48, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why are you so testy? If you can find it so easily, why not add it? (Also, why not get a better cite than that?) Alastairward (talk) 19:30, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
