  • Keep. The lightbulb joke is ubiquitous and deserves some discussion, which is provided in the Lightbulb joke article--which also provides a huge list of other lightbulb jokes. I think it would be hard to discuss the lightbulb joke without providing a lot of examples, and this is yet another variation. However, if insisted upon, I could see it being merged with the rest of the article, since there are already long ones there (such as the lawyer one). Elf | Talk 15:45, 9 Sep 2004 (UTC)
  • Don't merge. Either delete or keep, but don't merge. The main article should not consist minority niche jokes. Trekker jokes and long jokes should probably be separated too. I'd say that one needs to write some explanation for the list (when the jokes started, who uses them, in what groups/forums, etc., why there is desire to use the LB joke format for everything even outside the traditional realm of stereotyped people...) to make it justified.   • Delete. I don't see why this is any more deserving of its own article than, say, the philosophical or occupational lightbulb jokes. All of which I like, but why not just link to collections of dog and university and what-have-you lightbulb jokes in an external links section and take a representative sample of jokes for the (rather unwieldy) lightbulb joke article?
